Before I get to the food. I need to first brag about how friendly Dexter was to me. I came early because my Husband and I were... headed back to Richmond, VA. The door was locked but he caught me before I got into my car. We chatted a few while he cooked allthat delicious food. We got jerk chicken, cabbage, and red beans and rice. The food was amazing! We both enjoyed our plates. Theportions on both were so big we saved some for dinner. Such great customer service from the beginning. Every bite was soflavorful and I'm not making this up. LISTEN? whoever reads this review is in for an amazing treat! I am beyond satisfied! This was my first time visiting Jerrrk Time... and they definitely did not disappoint me. Dexter and the staff were personable and inviting. As I looked at the menu theyoffered me a sample. As soon as they removed the pan cover I knew that?s what I wanted! The stewed chicken????? Y?all all I cansay is SIMPLY AMAZING! The chicken was tender & cooked to perfection! The sauce was succulent and savory! OMG the cabbage? guys!the cabbage wasn?t like anything I?ve tasted before! My God? speechless. And I mean that in a great way! The rice and peas wereamazing as well and seasoned quite nicely. I also added a side of Mac n cheese which had a awesome Caribbean smoked flavor. Ofcourse I had to order my favorite?plantains. I love plantains!!! Then to top it off I purchased some ?crack tea?, now that?swhat I call sweet tea! After I finished eating I had to take a moment and call to applaud them on their fantastic restaurant,food & service! I told Dexter the only thing I?m upset about was the fact I didn?t have any leftovers! ???? He thanked us forvisiting and said we?re welcomed anytime. Found out about this place a few days ago and is now easily one of my favorite spots in VA. Hands down BEST jerk/ curry chicken... ive ever had. Fall off the bone. Fresh plantains. First off the chicken is fall off the bone DELICIOUS and their macaroni and cheese is by far my favorite! You wanna spice it up... or mellow out with some very very good food that just warms the soul I highly recommend this restaurant! My boyfriend usuallyget the ox tail stew and he LOVES it! Not to mention their greens are fresh and fragrant. Y'all! This place here is so good! I ordered the oxtail entree, jerk chicken lunch special and Rasta pasta. Everything was very... fresh, full of flavor and cohesive to the meal as a whole i.e. everything paired well together. I definitely couldn't evenfinish a third of the food (so I packed up everything to eat for lunch tomorrow too!) If you like sweet heat, the jerk chickenis for you. The jerk chicken isn't very hot which I think makes it better than other jerks I've tried, where the spicinessoverpowers the rest of the flavors. Also, if you order anything on the menu, you get a very big portion... So even though, thefood is kind of pricey, you definitely get what you pay for! Where do I start?! I called shortly before closing to ask if I could place a to go order and I was met with a warm friendly... associate who took our order with time and invited us to drive safely as they would be there cleaning up. The warm customerservice continued as we were invited to sample their delicious sides? the best cabbage!! My mother says the oxtails are the bestshe?s had and we oxtails fairly often. First of all, the owners are very welcoming and take pride in giving great service! They went over and beyond to make sure I... had an excellent dining experience. I?ve been here several times. I mostly order the Jerk Chicken which is very flavorful andseasoned to perfection. The curry Chicken is top-notch too! Mac N Cheese, Greens, Yams, Rice Beans are my go to sides, withcocoa bread. Found this little spot while driving on Rosemont. Great flavors!!!!! I got the mac & cheese, stew chicken, peas & rice, and... cabbage. They give you samples of everything you'd like to try.
