My first time at the VB location yesterday. My daughter and I arrived 30 min before closing. The host was very gracious I didn?t... get his name. My servers name was Brianna (Bri) and her service was impeccable. I was a manager at a restaurant for a very longtime and I tend to be over observant when at restaurants. Bri introduced herself, made recommendations, smiled, and never madeus feel rushed even though we arrived 30 min before closing. In the end she reminded us of her name and said come see her againoffering further recommendations next time. I was so impressed I asked for the manager (Bearded skinny male) and I made himaware of the great service provided by the staff. Sadly he was not so enthusiastic and didn?t seem to care much. This is one of the best pizza places in VB. The service was fast and friendly. The pizza was loaded with toppings, hot and... cooked perfectly. Brand new location had a great atmosphere with a amazing place to eat outside or even inside with windows allaround. Bathrooms were clean and I will definitely be going back and recommend this place! While the wait process was a little manic....and we were singing, "????Just another manic mushroom????????....once seated, the... service was outstanding, paced well & food delicious! We had the SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP, a rich blend of five cheeses baked withspinach and artichokes & served with the best garlic toast points! Also, the Greek Salad, with authentic sheep?s milk fetacheese along with Roma tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, sweet onions, mushrooms, pepperoncinis, banana peppers, and Kalamataolives on a bed of Romaine and iceberg lettuce with shredded carrots and red cabbage. Pizzas, all 10" (4 healthy slices): HouseSpecial - the Ultimate Mellow: red sauce, mozzarella, topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, honey ham, BESTapplewood-smoked bacon, sliced mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, green peppers, sweet onions and the finishing touch...moremozzarella...YES???? This was the best decorated Mellow Mushroom I have dined at (I have been to 4 other different ones). Perfectly decorated for a... beach pizza joint. The service was top notch. I believe it was opening night and the entire management team was on the floorassisting. Every employee I encountered was friendly and made you feel welcome. The bar staff was efficient at making drinks andobservant when I finished to ask if I would like another. Next, the food! I get what I always get at Mellow Mushroom. Wings andpizza. I ordered 10 wings (5 Jerk/5 Thai Chili) and a Pacific Rim Pizza. The wings were amazing! Exactly how I remember them.Unfortunately the pizza is what bumped this review down to 4 stars. The pizza was unevenly created and lacked the normal amountof toppings (see pic 3). Kinda bland for pineapple, bacon, ham, jalapeno, onion and cheese. Parking is exactly what you wouldexpect for VA Beach. Parking garage or metered parking. This Mellow Mushroom is located inside the Sheraton Hotel building at the corner of Atlantic Ave. and 35th Street at the... Virginia Beach Oceanfront. There is a parking garage for the Sheraton Hotel at the corner at 36th St., so you are able to parkthere when visiting the restaurant. My visit here was on October 1, 2022. Although Mellow Mushroom is part of the SheratonHotel, there is an external entrance ramp where you come in directly to the restaurant. There is a separate entrance for to goorders. For this visit, this was a soft opening before they fully opened for indoor dining on October 3, 2022, with friends andfamily of the staff. Once we came inside, there was nothing mellow about the Mellow Mushroom. It was a little after 6 pm andthe place was already hopping. There is an outdoor seating area to the right as you come into the restaurant, along with someindoor seating at the top after entering the first spot. The host/hostess stand is to the left after just passing that firstindoor dining area. We were immediately seated at a table. We were at a table near the bar area, but the bar area lookedreally good too. After getting settled at the table, we were at an area with other family too, so it worked out really well. Within a few moments, our server Tatianna (Tati) was over at our table and asked for our drink orders. I went with sweet teaand my mom went with tea that was half sweet and half unsweet. The sweet tea was really good, as it wasn't overly sweetened. Iwanted to try a few appetizers, so we did get the Bruschetta and Pretzel Bites (full order) with the beer cheese dip. A littlebit after, we were ready to order dinner. The irony here is that I have a severe mushroom allergy. They were really good abouttaking care of that. Just tried out this spot, had their Pizza and a Salad, Pizza was alright, but honestly the size and cost of their salad kind of... threw me off: $7.49 for a tiny salad? I?m a regular at Northend Pizza right across the street and I pay $7.99 for their GardenSalad, literally about 3 times the size. So yeah food is alright, but way overpriced in my opinion. Got the House special and the Holy Shittake and a side order of the pretzel bites... You can really taste the quality of the... pizza here, great fresh ingredients, good quality cheese and cooked to perfection. Staff was friendly and quick. Great sign ofthings to come.
