Waitress was not in a very good mood that day, I guess. Very short with my Dad (he is 88). Was not thrilled with that. My sister... and Dad got there breakfast first. They said it was good. I had to wait a bit longer, which is not a big deal, but I had an eggover easy. Also wanted bacon. When I received my food, the egg was almost hard boiled, the bacon was way overdone and it was cold. She did take it back, and it was all corrected and her attitude did change. Not sure why you have to go through all this, just toget decent service. Read more

Service at the front door was excellent. Once we got to our table not so much. We had to ask multiple times for our server to... refill drinks or bring us what we asked for. Food was bland, which is fine for people who don't like flavor in their food.Portion sizes were huge! Not a place I will come back to. Read more

Brought the family for a late late breakfast, the staff, food & environment are all great. It's a nice place to sit back relax... & enjoy a great meal. Good prices for a great portion of good food. Thanks to everyone at the restaurant for a great experience. Read more

We decided to try a new breakfast place the other morning. There was an extensive menu to pick from. I decided to try the... Sunrise omelet with hashbrowns and my partner go the Greek omelet with added gyro meat with home fries as a side. I will saythat I was generally enjoying our meal until I found a hair in my food. I know that sometimes this happens, but it definitelyturned my stomach and ruined the meal for me. The service was great and this issue was resolved by taking the meal off the bill.I would try this place again as it was laid back and seemed like a good bang for your buck... as long as there's no hair in myfood next time! Outstanding service and great tasting food. Ordered the breakfast skillet and a gyro. Family owned and operated business. Will... definitely return again. Highly recommend! Read more

Great food, reasonable prices, excellent service. I was especially surprised to see the menu offers BOTH hash browns and... breakfast potatoes! Other places only serve one or the other! Planning to go back and try lunch! Read more

Virginia Beach, Virginia - I ended up at the ?Sunrise Cafe? for another ?Chipped-Beef Challenge? experience ? ?... counter-seating, off-street parking. a full bar and smiles from NOT my server, were the highlights of my visit ? to start, at$12.99, the ?Sunrise Cafe? ?Creamed Chipped-Beef? was the most expensive and most disappointing chipped beef of my challengeexperiences ? the chipped beef was way too salty, the home fries were actually tasteless ?overly? crunchy deep-fried Frenchfries & my pre-buttered biscuit was a bit mushy ? why restaurants pre-butter items & over-salt menu items is mystifying to me,while placing salt shakers & butter on the table ? I will assume, bad grill-masters are at fault? in addition, the leastchipped-beef ?quantity? of all my previous ?Chipped-Beef Challenge? experiences ? overall, the ?Sunrise Cafe? was adisappointment ? ? reviewing the full menu, the ?Sunrise Cafe? appears to be the most expensive breakfast location in VirginiaBeach (including oceanfront tourist priced eateries) ? low quantity, poor quality, high prices and many superior Virginia Beacheating options, will insure I will not return to the ?Sunrise Cafe? ? ?Run-A-Way Bill? washere! #ChippedBeefChallenge 08.30.21 Read more
