We have eaten here several times, (after a HORRIBLE experience at their #1 location on Main St. one Saturday night) Upon... deciding to give their #2 location on Mooney Blvd a try, the food was just as good. Their salsa is the best around! The serviceis prompt and pleasant. The food arrives quickly and accurately. Basic atmosphere here for a casual Mexican meal. I had thecrisp shredded beef taco & cheese enchilada plate. My hubby had the chili relleno & cheese enchilada plate. Onions were added atno extra charge. (which has been a pet-peeve for us at other Mexican places) The comp chips & salsa were brought promptly, aswas the soda water & lime. That's about it. We were thanked as we left by two employees. I guess we are officially 'regulars'now. [[A NOTE ON MAIN LOC.#1: Too bad the service at Main St. location isn't more like on Mooney? Main St. has reallyfestive decor and a trendy warehouse vibe. (I think it's under new management?) Anyway..we were regulars there for years. Nowthey have chain across the dining entrance, and signs stating '90 minute limit' posted on walls etc. ????The wait times average45 min on weekends for a table; then 30 min, on average, for the food to arrive. The worst part is the mind-numbing loud music,heavy on the base from the speakers. They crank it up to the max on Fri-Sat-Sun. Went to this Restaurant for my nephew's Birthday. Group of maybe 20. Our waiter was rude, when asked to get a refill of a drink... didn't happen until we asked again. We asked for a cake to be brought out and thirty minutes later, nothing came but a waitresscame to tell us we had been there to long and we needed to leave. Still no checks to pay. The dishes and drinks are delicious at this place but, the service was terrible. After waiting around 20 minutes to be served... and seeing how everyone who arrived left because they had not been served, when the restaurant was almost empty. I had to speakdirectly to a waitress and even so, the result of the service was the desire not to return. Read more
Fresh made tortillas for the tacos which are always a good big portion with alot of meat. Sopes are one of my favorite to order.... Customer service is great. Read more
Ahhh, cannot get good Mexican food where I currently live, so coming back home is always a treat. This is one of my most fave... Mexican joints in Visalia. I guage a Mexican restaurant on two things; their asada and their rellenos. If they can't nail thosetwo, I am out. El Tarasco does a decent job- I lean more toward favoring the relleno over the asada, but that is just mypersonal preference. But usually everything on my plate is tasty. The food is consistent, the place is clean, I hear they servegreat margaritas. They specialize in seafood, and their ceviche is really good- but I am a ourist, so I hardly venture off mytaco/relleno combo. The price is a little high, but it all depends in whether you are willing to invest. I dig the food, am anadvicate of supporting local business and have always had a oleasant experience here, so I invest. My friend & I visited El Tarasco on Feb. 6th for dinner. Since it is outdoor dining it was pretty packed. We were lucky at our... arrival there was no wait cuz there was 1 table left. We ordered & I have to say they are not stingy with the portion size oftheir food. Everything was on point & delicious! Great atmosphere & excellent friendly service. Read more
