Nice environment, busy so must mean food is good. The calamari salad was very delicious. Dressing was very flavorable and I... could really just have this as a meal. We really enjoyed our evening. I’m just going to say it. This is a little bit on the pricy side. But with the cost of good... these days, I really can’t fault them for it. Wages at 15-17 an hour has to be paid some way? Anyhow. Back to the review onthe place. Sound levels were perfect. Decor looked great and we enjoyed the fish tank. The lighting was also nice but the glasscoverings showed some age. The menus also need to be reprinted or updated. They just don’t exude a top notch sushi place. Justmy opinion but something for the owner to consider. A menu should be your “dating first impression” and should be easy toshowcase. I think some little spicy offerings or chef features would also be adopted well. We were handed our menu and left tofigure it out. Anyhow. The sushi was on point. Just the right amount of sauces and rice. Maybe could use a slight tenth ouncemore of proteins and less cucumbers. We also ordered the teriyaki beef and asked what cut of meat comes with dish. The waitresshad no clue. It’s New York strip. That’s a premium cut and for the teriyaki we enjoyed the protein very much. It was cookedjust a slight more than our preference but we were not offered medium, rare or well done. I would say the final was medium well,closer to well. Not sure if Ball Tip is just too expensive right now but that is also a great teriyaki cut to offer. Sliced thinand it’s absorbs the dish flavors. Lastly was the drink offerings. No prices listed for soda. I didn’t check the ticket butit would have been nice to know. Overall I would come back and recommend to a friend. We enjoyed three rolls, the rainbow, themaui and the paradise roll with teriyaki beef bowl. We left satisfied and look forward to the next visit. Read more
Gozen Japanese Restaurant "Sushi & Teppanyaki", Me & the family came here for a "dinner night" out so we really did enjoyed all... of the food!!! It was so delicious & so yummy ????! My nephew chose this restaurant for his birthday and there were only four of us dining in. I liked the atmosphere and design... overall. Food tasted good but not great. Mom didn't like Miso soup, said it tasted old and too much onion flavor. Yakisoba hadlots of bell pepper and sliced onion. Chicken is tender and seasoned well. I didn't feel like ordering seafood, I don't trustmany places when it comes to preparing fish knowing that Visalia isn't a location known for Fresh Seafood. Good menu options anddesserts available. 2 staff members sang happy Birthday and were very nice. Servers could be a little more attentive but werefriendly and did check on us. I would like to try other menu items and possibly sushi ???? in the future. Tried Saki for thefirst time...not my first choice but interesting flavor and it definitely has the alcohol taste going down???? Read more

Gozen Japanese Restaurant interior is open and modern. Menus is good, but menus need less advertisements and a few more photos... of their sushi. Staff is attentive, but need a more professional approach to their customer contact. Sushi selected was decentquality, but presentation could use better presentation. Read more
I went out to lunch with coworkers to celebrate a promotion. We had a party of twelve, and had scheduled a reservation; we still... had to wait to be seated. The atmosphere was delightful as tranquil Japanese music played softly in the background. The chef wasentertainingly corny! As per the food, we ordered off the lunch Teppanyaki menu which was reasonably priced for the taste; whichwas mediocre at best. I wish I had ordered sushi!!! Read more
First off. The customer service was stellar. The server was consistent with us as it was our first time. She made sure to check... on us often. 2nd the food was so delicious. Couldn't stop eating. We chowed down all of our Shashimi , Edamame and Garlic RicedChicken Teriyaki. 3rd Those Cichlids fishes in the tanks were all beautiful. The restaurant as a when was everything.
