Absolutely recommend MIKKO! It was our first time dining in on a Monday night, there was no wait with fast service! We ordered... chirashi bowl, tiger roll, takoyaki and some drinks. The chirashi bowl is top tier at this price, with really fresh and tastyassorted fish and vegetables, with also top tier presentation... Wow! It's such a gem! The waiters and waitresses were friendlyand the interior was clean, comfortable, and cozy! I will certainly go back again for more of those chirashi bowl!! Read more
The sushi is GOOD. We really liked the Carlsbad location and that made us drive out of our way to come to Vista when we wanted... sushi. Fish was fresh, dishes came out quickly. Lots of things on the menu I would get. Service was overall good except ourwaitress forgot an item we ordered but she never came back to check on us so we couldn?t tell her. Then I guess her shift endedcause she waved goodbye and left without ever coming back. When we asked for our check it still contained the missing item, butit was quickly taken off by another staff member. The kid cleaning the tables was super thorough and never stopped movingthough. MIKKO sushi is my go to place for sushi in north county. They have a really good selection of rolls, but they also have other... things too which is good for my husband who doesn?t like sushi. My go to is the MIKKO roll, but I also have had several others.Pictured is the MIKKO and the dragon roll. Here?s the thing, it?s pricey, and I don?t love that, but all sushi is expensive so Ifeel like it?s relative. I give this place 5 stars because I do like the sushi, but I just wish it was a touch cheaper (they didactually up their prices recently to $14.50). Read more
The most amazing sushi. It was the best sushi we have had in SoCal. We loved everything. We had edamame, three rolls and a bowl... of ramen. Great prices. Delicious flavors. So much variety it was hard to choose. Atmosphere was perfect. Everything looked sogood and very large menu. Had a draft beer and hard kombucha. Both worth it here. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning.Our server / hostess was so kind and sweet. Outdoor seating for chilly nights with heaters. Plenty of indoor seating. Probably the best Sushi I've had in North County. The restaurant itself is large enough to mitigate waiting, but small enough to... feel like a local place to step away for a meal. The service was pleasant and knowledgeable. They were able to answer questionsconfidently and gave good advice on which choice to make based on taste preference. Some Sushi places are hit and miss but not this place. The service was good and the food was delicious. In the rear plate, you... see one of our favorite rolls; Pipeline and in front you have a mixture I created (to get a better photo) from left to right;Mango roll, Baja roll, and Garden roll. We came here for a friend's birthday. I do not eat sushi so I ordered chicken catsue curry. It was delicious! My friends really... enjoyed the sushi rolls, but again I'm not a sushi fan so I couldn't personally attest to this. One of my friends asked whichsushi was the most spicy and ordered it then said it wasn't very spicy at all. That was the only complaint I heard. Friendlystaff. Good location in downtown Vista.
