Really good food! Got a beef. It's a beef! meaning that it's not a bun with a little beef like Buona across the street. Ordered... mine with sweet peppers. Actually got peppers! Not one little green spot on my sandwich. Also tried the double cheese. Greatburger! You need to have Python jaws to take a bite. Prices are fair too. This is my go to place! Wow what a Suprise find for us. There is something here for everyone young and old. It is so much more than cars. Movie... memorabilia, Disney, Pip organs, Campers, Bicycles, motorcycles, Military, Dinosaurs, antiques, a great little restaurant and Iam sure I am missing something.. If you love old cars, make sure to leave your checkbook at home as many of these beauties arefor sale... My wife is still talking about the Baby Blue Convertible she wanted. My wife and I have a tradition of stopping here on our way home for a couple of Chicago dogs and a tamale. The tamale is for my... wife. Good food, but needs a little bit of organization. The hamburgers were tasty. However, there is a lot of people on the kitchen... which helps to have a fast service, but they should put some people on the floor to clean a little bit more. Also, I wassurprised that with so many people the made a mistake on the order, but it was fixed quickly. Read more
Love their burgers and hot dogs! I've recently moved nearby and felt sad that I'll now be far away from Portillos in Vernon... Hills. But after discovering this gem, I am no longer feeling any "separation anxiety" (lol). Their Chicago Dog is even waaaybetter! It's not too salty for my taste. It's the best one I've tried so far. Wasn?t going to write a review because i?ll never be back if I am in the area again but had to give a warning to others. Do... yourself a favor and taste test the water from their fountain drinks before you put pop into your cup. The water tasted likepure iron/blood and was nauseating. If you drink their pop you?re just masking that flavor with syrup. Idk if maybe they servewell water there and that?s where the flavor is coming from but I much prefer some sort of distilled/purified flavor. Food islike a generic portillos, cheese sauce is identical to portillos, but the rest taste like a mix between portillos and popsbeef. Yes it is cheaper but what you save is not worth the lack of quality flavor. The burger bun is very dense and althoughthey are fresh, the size of the bun makes the sandwich taste almost stale. The beef meat is good, hot giardinera also good,bread was fresh but the au jus is lacking and had an off putting flavor. Fries were good. Drinks of choice were water, can?timagine soda tastes much better since water is the base for that. Service was very fast, lines inside and out moved quickerthan i?ve seen at most places. Overall, I am usually very open minded with food places and given the rave reviews I figured itcan?t be that bad but i?d honestly rather drive an extra 20/30 minutes out of the way to get portillos quality and flavor thanthis dupe.
