This place supports Mexican Restaurants with the chips, hot sauce, queso, flour & corn tortillas and then there's the tamales.... But here's the deal, you can buy from them directly. As a Texan I grow up having tamales for Christmas Eve. I have kept thattradition alive in my life and have created that annual routine with my family. As my kids have grown up and moved awayChristmas Eve tamale dinner is the glue that brings the five kids and their love ones back to our home and its Jesse's that foodthey all crave. As you walk in, you'll be greeted by a very strong corn scent. They process all of their own corn here, and they make their... tortillas right in front of you. The employees are all very friendly and were all smiles while serving us. You can get hottamales on most days, but sometimes they're sold out so it's better to call ahead of time if you're going specifically fortamales. Note that you'll have to eat them at home or in the car, there's no seating as this is not a restaurant. Their corntortillas are the best I've ever had. They sell flour tortillas, corn chips, guacamole, and queso as well as their tortillas andcorn tamales. If you're feeling creative, they also sell husks and masa so you can make your own tamales at home. They DO takecredit cards, this place isn't cash only. Best Tamales in Waco. Jesse's has been a Waco staple for many, many years and they carry the tradition forward from generation... to generation. The reviews that do not like these tamales are not true Texans who appreciate traditional Tex-Mex tamales, chip,salsa and queso. You can't go wrong with Jesse's. Read more
First time stopping by over the weekend. Service was top notch. Tamales were awesome. Definitely will be coming back.
