This is a secret treasure, a hole in the wall with ridiculously awesome southern comfort food! We were on a road trip and needed... to stop in Waco to refuel the vehicle as well as ourselves. We found Sascee?s and figured we should give it a try. The food isserved cafeteria style; you go up and look at what?s being served for the day, and then place your order. They plate your food, you find a seat, and then they come and take your drink order. Our waitress was very friendly and walked us through the process. The gentleman serving the food walked us through our options. I got the two meat plate with smoked ribs and fried chicken. Formy sides I got the cabbage, black eyed peas and the red beans. When I found a table, we were quickly served a basket ofcornbread. That just made the beans and the peas a whole lot better! The ribs tasted like they had been smoked for two days. Themeat literally fell off the bone as it was being plated. The smoke flavor was so rich, no additional sauce was needed. The friedchicken was seriously homestyle. It was a bit saltier than you?d find in a restaurant, but it was amazing. We all had flashbacksto our childhood and those Sunday night chicken dinners. Sure enough the black eyed peas were fantastic on the cornbread, secondonly to the red beans. The cabbage was very good, but I have a killer New Years cabbage recipe; this was a very close second. Itis a small place, but the folks are friendly, and the food is southern cooking at its finest. Be sure and make this a stop ifyou happen to be in the Waco area. Read more

Great hole in the wall for a fix to your soul food cravings. It's not all you can eat but an 11 dollar with get you a meat/rice... and 2 fixin's. During our visit they had smothered pork chops, beef tips and chicken n dumplings. The pork chops were cookedperfectly, fall off the bone tender but was on the salty side. The beef tips were also good. The corn was sweet and crisp andnot soggy and bland typically of these corns. The green beans though were bland. Overall don't let this hole in the wall passyou by on a great place for grandma's cooking. Read more

This place has one of the best Southern comfort food I have ever had! My wife and I both tried the oxtails and they were fall... off the bone good. The fried chicken was super juicy and flavorful. The mash and gravy was decadent. The collards were tenderand cooked to perfection. Overall, this was a great experience! We went on a Sunday so we recommend you get there early enoughso you won't miss out on their food. They run out of food fast! Lastly, don't leave without at least taking some of theirdesserts to go. You probably won't have enough room to eat it while sitting ???? Read more

Customer service is important to the people who work at Sascee's. They helped us understand how to order food there and they... made sure we had everything we needed. We went there to get fried chicken but they didn't have it on Fridays. We had ribs withgood BBQ sauce. I would return if I was ever to be in Waco again. Read more

The service was 5/5, and the food was great. I loved the way that I was treated. The portion sizes were good, and I enjoyed... everything that I ate. I hope to return on one of my next visits to Waco. The skin on the fried chicken was delicious, and thebanana pudding was wonderful. The banana pudding had a unique look. Read more

Chicken, Ox Tail stew, Smothered Pork chop, Mac and Cheese, Okra, Collard Greens, Corn bread dressing, Sweet potatoes, andCabbage. The Fried chicken was outstanding. It was crispy but not greesy, the Pork chop and Chicken fried steak were full offlavor and tender. The Ox tail was soft and fell off the bone. All items were cooked to perfection. If you have not eaten hereyou are missing out on a treasure that Sascee has to offer. Read more
