I grew up loving this. Have not had it for decades living in the mainland. The saimin tasted like water and noodles..no... flavor. Not what I remember. The short rib was so salty I couldnt eat it. Definitely not what I remember. The pork belly wasdecent. Don't remember that on the menu decades ago but the noodles that came with it was devoid of flavor. The food is eithersuper salty or super bland. Not sure if its just this location but I probably won't be coming back to rekindle nostalgia atother locations either. Read more
I just visited the L&L Restaurant in Waimea Kauai. I ordered a regular beef curry to go. I opened my plate lunch at home and i... was totally disappointed. There was dried beef chunks on top of the curry with no sauce. It is totally obvious that the cookjust added the dried out beef after he put the curry in the container. It shows a total disregard for his/her customers.Unfortunately prices for plate lunches have gone up and I don't mind the price increases so long as the quality of the foodremains the same. I was expecting a restaurant with proper plates, got styrofoam boxes instead. Voting within our party of three: one dish was... tasteless at best, another person literally ran to the bathroom to throw up, and the 3rd person was moderatelyunimpressed. Atmosphere? None, a drive through McDonald's has a more upscale vibe to it. Oh, and what's Hawaiian about thisplace? Exactly, absolutely nothing. Read more
Pretty good place for food selection. Delicious food. Had the braised pork, Kalua pork with cabbage and Spam Musibi. All great... dishes. Everything is served in take out and unfortunately no washrooms. Read more
