The sushi menu is marginal. They didn't have yellowtail. They also don't give you the option for low salt soy sauce until you... ask twice and they do not carry gluten-free soy. Their roll selection is minimal, and there was way too much rice on the roll.Mostly, all the special rolls had cream cheese in them. No healthy options. The duck entree for $24 was super salty and dry. Thefried rice really wasn't. Just regular rice with some soy sauce on it. Read more

I have never left my food behind at a restaurant. I have a high tolerance for food that may not taste the best. If I paid for it... and it won't make me sick, I'll eat because I don't want to waste it. Not in this case.... I don't know if it was on purpose orwhat, but it was the second worse restaurant food I've ever had. I ate maybe 3 bites of the chicken which was dry and flavorlessand only one bit of the rice that was so disgusting my stomach immediately turned. I paid for our meals which was $44 andtipped politely because I understand that the restaurant business is a difficult industry and I appreciate their service, atmosphere, timeliness, and menu options. I always pay. Period. We left and bought sushi at Wegmans. I'm just so disappointed. Read more

This is on our regular rotation of Wake Forest restaurants and we have been many times. The food is great. My favorite is the... Thai barbecue chicken, simply yummy, a half chicken. The Spicy Basil is another go-to no brainer selection. The Volcano Pot withcoconut soup is great. Service is just average, not stellar. They can get busy and be understaffed. Prices are a touch higherthan other Thai places, but not ridiculous. The ambiance is modern and plenty of space, usually clean. Some of the tables haveold surfaces that really need refinishing because the finish is sticky and a little gummy. But overall, a good restaurant tohave in Wake Forest. Read more

The food was excellent! The fried spring rolls were light and crunchy, the Crab Angel's were excellent and the Pad Thai Shrimp... was perfect. The service was a bit un-attentive. We never got our salads that came with our lunch entre and we weren't checkedup on once throughout our entire meal. We sat for a long time with clean plates set to the side waiting and finally were askedif we needed anything else. The staff is kind, inviting and very nice. Read more

I was pleasantly surprised how lowkey and chill this place was. Each table had a small vase with battery operated mini lights. I... had to take the top off to turn it on, couldn't resist. The Sesame chicken itself was a 9.5/10 in terms of actually tasting likechicken...and having a super light and airy crunch/bite. I had to get up to walk to the bar for another coke...and the broccoliand carrots served with the Sesame chicken just didnt taste good. A for effort...B or C for taste and overall experience. I got the basil rolls, which were filled largely with rice noodles and the basil didn't stand out. I liked the spicy plum sauce,... but it could have been spicier. Then came the chicken panang curry, add vegetables. In hindsight, I would have asked for halfchicken, half vegetables as it was a lot of chicken. The sauce was milder in flavor than I'm used to, bordering on bland, andthe chicken and vegetables tasted like they were cooked plain and then doused with sauce. Overall it was a decent meal but I wasnot thrilled for >$25 plus tip. Service was a little slow as they dealt with seating a few other tables and a short line ofpeople picking up takeout. Read more

I don't usually leave reviews on yelp, but I had to leave a review for Thai Cafe. I have lived in Thailand, so my standards are... high, I admit. The best thing I have to say about this place is the coconut soup - it's on point. The sushi was horrible, theworst I've ever had. The kind that when you taste it, you know you shouldn't eat any more of it unless you want to be up allnight. They offered to replace it with another roll, but the other one was not fresh and I didn't eat that one either. I orderedpad Thai, because most Thai restaurants do a decent job at that dish. This was the worst pad Thai I've ever had. It didn't evenlook like the authentic dish. I couldn't eat much of it because it was so overly sweet, with no sour or savory or spicy flavor, literally just sweet. A big disappointment and I won't be back. Read more
