Use to love coming hear would stop on the sleds. Or if someone had a broken sled go snowboarding instead, but the new owners... have decided to take away winter sports from the north woods. Blocking access to a much needed snowmobile trail. Many familiesand small businesses depend on the tourist money brought to the area. Go to Cascade or big powder instead. Read more

If dismantling the Western Upper Peninsula Snowmobile Industry is something to be proud of I would give them 5 stars. The new... owners (whom are not from MI) are irreparably harming the local communities and businesses of Wakefield, Bessemer, and Ironwood. If you have any love for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan do NOT support this new takeover. They are making life for locals whodepend on the snowmobile industry very uncertain this winter season. Also with the removal of local discounts on a lift ticketthey are insuring many of us locals will not be able to afford skiing at their resort this year. They make me sick. Read more

Was planning a family vacation to go snowmobiling and skiing. Found out the new owner doesn?t want a snowmobile trail anywhere... near his property. He also doesn?t consider snowmobiling a family sport! I pray he changes his mind. Because of him. Theeconomic impact to local motels, bars, gas stations and restaurants will be huge! I feel so bad for those owner?s andemployees. Snowriver mountain resort will not see one penny from me, my family and friends until he has a change of heart! Read more

Was planning to meet up with friends and do some skiing and snowmobiling. Was sad to see that they are not interested in... supporting snow sports. We are now planning to go to the other resort that supports all snow sports. Read more

The recent acquisition of the mountains previously known as BackJack and Indianhead will provide an enormous economic stimulus... to the area. The new owner will be investing heavily in new equipment such as high speed lifts, better snow making equipment, and improved grooming technology. These mountains always were an excellent recreational area and that will only be enhanced bythe infusion of new technology and renovations. The mountains themselves provide excellent terrain and superiorskiing/snowboarding for winter enthusiasts. For those who are claiming the new ownership does not care about the localcommunity because of the rescinding of snowmobile access to the trails that currently exist on the property, my response is thatthis is absolute absurdity. More people will come to this resort with the improvements planned, more people will be working athigher paid jobs, and those people who do come will be spending money in the community. I would remind everyone - this is a skihill, not a snowmobile trail. Giving poor ratings in a spiteful attempt to slander the new ownership is just an indication ofchildish petulance. This is a great move, one that will provide a much needed economic boost to the area. Read more

New owners. New ownership shut down local snowmobile trail that connects the UP to WI and has been a long established connector.... Very selfish move considering how much economic impact the snowmobile community has on area businesses in the Western UP. Pleaseconsider this before visiting Big Snow Resort. I will no longer support this business. Read more
