We wanted to love this place. The staff is friendly, the ambience good, the draft beer cold. Unfortunately the food is... borderline inedible. We ordered the boneless wings which were mostly breading and mushy. The honey mustard crusted chickenbreast was inedible-all crust, microscopic amounts of chicken. The braised short ribs were okay-though bad presentation, Thefish and chips had zero flavor and the scotch eggs were hard to swallow. However the grilled chicken pesto sandwich was awinner. I moved to RI couple years ago to attend URI. This restaurant used to be a favorite spot for me and my wife. We really liked... their fish and chips. However, since last couple months our experience with their service has been terrible. The conduct oftheir waitresses (not all though) and especially the bartender has been extremely disappointing. I really want to narrate ourlatest experience that happened on August 8th, 2022 around 7:00PM which forced us to write this review. We usually prefer totake out the food, however, they refuse to take order over the phone and rather asked us to come to the restaurant and placeorder in-person. When we reached, the waitress refused to take our order for take-out and asked us to talk to the bartender.Interestingly. the bartender also refused to take our order (all the while being very uncourteous) stating that she wont placethe order until we buy drinks. We being Muslims who do not drink, had to request her to take our order without drinks. Upon ourinsistence she agreed and asked us to wait for 25 mins. We waited outside, and then after 25 mins when we went in, we found outshe never inserted our order in the system. She never apologized and showed no remorse. We felt disrespected. Although we gotour food eventually (after 50 mins of wait), but due to the poor service, lack of courtesy and no concern towards the customers,we are never going there again. Just visited tonight (7/28) and was asked to wait 30 minutes because we didn?t have a reservation which we were fine with and... they ended up calling us within 10 minutes to let us know there was a table for us. We had a very nice and attentive server wholet us know it was his first night. Not sure his name but he did a great job and checked on us often. Only complaint is the waitfor our food! We waited nearly an hour for our food to come out and by the time our food came out there were very few peopleleft. The food was very good though, good portion sizes and was obviously scratch made. Sadly they had run out of their handsqueezed lemonade. If you?re willing to wait for the food, it is worth it! Read more
