Rode 340 mi (round trip) on our motorcycle to enjoy the fried chicken. You don't do that for just any fried Chicken. Because of... various factors we got there 15 minutes before they closed. They let us in anyway! We had a darn good meal! Totally appreciatethem. They welcomed us fed us and served us even though it was the end of their day when they could have turned us away. Read more
The service and cleanliness was great. The problem was the food was absolutely terrible. I love a great meat and three but this... wasn't it. Me and the people I was with thought the same thing about the food. It was tasteless. What a treat to come and eat here with the family. all 6 of us cleared our plates. 3 of us had stewed beef over mashed potatoes,... candied carrots and field peas w snaps. Unbelievable comfort food, every time! Read more
It is a buffet line they dish your food for you. I only go when our group of friends go. I go because there's always something... you can get that like. The Mac and cheese was not any good. It was just macaroni with fake cheese on top. The chicken liverswere very good green bean were ok. Mined you this place is in the south I'm sure the ladies cooking could put out some reallygood food but they can only do what the owner will let them do. Read more

Heard so much about the cafeteria so we had to give it a try! My husband and I had their chicken, both baked and fried. The... fried is really good, very crispy skin and succulent chicken. The baked? Quite dry. Their sides were average. I got deviledeggs which were delicious but the macaroni and cheese lacked flavor. The corn bread was also a little bland. All in all, Iwouldn?t be against coming back, but it wouldn?t be my first choice either around Walhalla. P.S. The Snickers cheesecake is amust! Read more
Good cafeteria style restaurant in downtown Walhalla. Famous for their fried chicken. Have a good variety of sides to choose... from including cold salads and deserts. Also, voices do change from day to day. For example, flounder is an option on Saturdaybut I can?t recall it being available on Sunday. If you see a line at the door don?t worry the line goes fairly quickly. Read more
