The China Chef Experience (Takeout Edition). It is never my intent to bash a place of business. However, I know COVID has... changed the restaurant industry, and many smaller local restaurants have been affected. I frequented China Chef Pre-COVID andwas in the area and decided to check them out. Upon entering, I saw the owners had taken safety precautions as the restauranthad plastic blocking off the dine-in area. I saw nothing wrong with this, but it appeared the restaurant is now using thatspace as a storage/junk area, and it was visible upon entering. I ordered their shrimp and broccoli. I remembered that was myfavorite when I used to dine here. Once ready to eat, I noticed that the shrimp were smaller than before and not deveined.Likewise, the eggroll was smaller than before as well. The flavor was still there but on a smaller scale. I could tell theowners still have passion for their food when eating. Great taste, but visually the business needs significant updates. Insteadof plastic, a wall would make this place more visually appealing. I eat shrimp and broccoli, but I like my shrimp deveined.Moreover, when a restaurant starts to make cutbacks, I worry about the other things they are doing to save. I am unsure if Iwould return, but I hope China Chef returns to the once-thriving establishment I knew them to be. Read more

So I like to read reviews before I try a new spot and I moved to Kernersville a year ago. Well I wanted some Chinese takeout... like Virginia has and up North. I read a lady's comment about the food tasting like up North so I said I would give it a go andif we don't like it we want eat there again. Ordered it and it was ready by the time I got there took me less than 10 mins. Theprices was decent. When I got home and open up my take just from the look and smell of it I could tell from the smell and thelook of the food this was the real deal. Everything was cooked the right way. General Tso Chicken and Shrimp fried rice was onpoint and that House Lo Mein second to the best I have every tasted. They have a customer for life. This was the best I have hadsince I moved to Kernersville. My husband even said the lady was very friendly. Oh I will be back and look forward to tryingdifferent things on the menu. Read more
Excellent place for quality Chinese food , so tasty. The staff was friendly and observant. I highly recommend this place!
Gave a review months ago. Tried them again. The same very low quality no meat or vegetables just rice in their food. Seems as if... they want the money and not give what you pay for. Don't go there. China House Walnut Cove 100% better. Well worth the drive. Read more
