Best lil burger joint around!!! Steamed cheseburgers with chedder cheese....Yum!! American steamed has an interesting selection... of beverages that you wont see any other place. Cream soda and cherry soda to name a couple. This place beats Teds hands down.The owner is open on his interests of wallingford history with a lot of historic vintage pictues and newpaper articles on thewalls you can view as he gets your order ready. Our first time here, owner was very friendly, burgers were very good, tuna mac was delicious, just the way I make it with peas!... And a very eclectic variety of sodas to choose from. This is a covid 19 takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. If ambiance and upscale are your thing this place... isn't for you. But if great burgers are what inspire you, it is imperative that you stop in here. The steamed cheeseburger isunique to this party of CT and I don't know why. There should be more of them around the state and country. They are well doneyet juicy and flavorful. I went with cheddar cheese and it gave it even more flavor. This little place may be a hole in the wall but the food is just amazing because the owner dose not use grease on any of his... food and the restaurant is incredibly clean. The owner is extremely friendly and remembers the name of his frequent patrons. Read more

10/28/17 Came back to try the burgers this time around and we were not disappointed! And the Mac salad and potato salad were... very tasty too! All we can say is "WOW!" Best steamed food we have yet! We both had the steamed steak sandwich and will be backto try the other items on the menu! Read more
