I go to the Walnut creek black bear very often, the food is excellent, the place too, but I must highlight a short old lady, I... don't know her name, but on many occasions I see her mistreated, disrespectful and rude towards customers I think it's amanager, or a waitress. I'm not sure. I usually go there twice a week. and today the lady did not go unnoticed. There were somedelivery guys waiting for their food and doing their job like everyone else. It hurts me to give this review. I have been going to BBD for years and have always had reliable good food and service. This was... by far the worst experience I have had anywhere in recent memory. The host said it would be a 2 minute wait and did not botherto take our name, 15 minutes later we had to ask the host again what was going on. They had forgotten us and had to re do thewhole process. They seated us directly at the entrance to the kitchen, every waiter and buss boy had to pass us to get to thedining area. We waited 15 minutes to be offered coffee. When the waiter took our order it was another 20 before the food showedup, only then we we offered a refill on the coffee. Keep in mind as I said we were directly in front of the entrance to thekitchen so everyone passed by us. When the food did come it was cold and meager. Best diner in the bay area. For sure. Go there and try avocado toast if you like it healthy. Have pancakes. And don't miss CFS... - Chicken Fried steak. Thats a must have! My husband and I had stopped In for lunch while visiting the area. It was very good and loved the indoor and outdoor decor.... ???? Our waitress was sweet and very nice. We had viewed the dessert counter and everything looked awesome, but we were toofull to have any . The pricing on the menu wasn't bad at all. We will make sure to stop by again when we visit the area. I lovedthe idea of selling items , like mugs and stuffed black bears and tee shirts among other small items as to keep with therestaurants name. Read more

Went on a Sunday morning and the placed was bustling. No booths available, but got a table for 3 of us near the back. Plenty of... staff, all working as quickly as possible to take orders & clear tables. Ordered for 2 kids and myself. Kids breakfasts cameout super fast. A bit before I got my order, but waitress told me she had asked the kitchen to get the kids orders asap. Wow, Ireally appreciated that extra special service - good thinking on the part of the waitress! We eat here often, & am always happywith how friendly & efficient their staff is. Read more
