A typical "Amish" restaurant. The buffet is a homage to gluttony. Clean, well presented never ending food. Usually slightly... overcooked and over salted. But it raises the idea of comfort food to the highest level. I opted for the Sapler Plate with RoastBeef and Turkey. The turkey was very good. The Roast Beef was served as pot roast and tasted dry, badly in need of gravy or aujust. Green beans were very over cooked and bland. Perhaps bacon or a splash of vinegar would help. The floor in the restroomwas very slippery. Read more

My wife and I enjoyed spending our anniversary in Amish country, topping off our visit of course with Der Dutchman. They treated... us very well, though we ate entirely too much at the buffet! It was a last-minute change in our plans to stay in-state, but wehad a fantastic time without regret. Read more

Beautiful place, awesome food and super nice staff. Heard a lot about this place and found it worth coming here. The location is... beautiful. Ample of parking space even for RV?s and trucks. It has a huge dining hall with booths having pretty landscape views. The food here is too good. Chicken pot pie I have never this delicious kind. Everything was just perfect. The back side of DerDutchman has a fantastic view which looks like mini Switzerland where you can take pictures. Our server was Shelby she was verynice and kind. Kids will love the ice cream here. They also have salad bar. Read more

Fantastic Amish home cooking!!! So good, and the butterscotch pie I had was delicious, almost as good as my Mamaws. We had to... wait in line but the line went quick and we got in faster than the 35 minutes they told us our wait would be. Well worth thewait!!!! Read more

The location is breathtaking and the restaurant itself is spacious and very well kept. The menu has all the favorites but I was... in the mood for pancakes and sausage. In the end I couldn't finish the hotcakes (not "pancakes") they were so filling anddelicious, but it was mainly due to swallowing the biscuit and gravy whole. I regret not asking about buying the yummystrawberry freezer jam. My server said it tasted like candy, which I don't eat. But it was heaven on the fluffy delicious wheattoast. I ordered a lot of food having flown in from the west coast the night before. My hotel was an hour and a half away fromthis marvelous place which I chose from several in Amish country, so I was determined but starving. I think the prices arecomparable to any major chain resaturant but this is closer to home cooking than I find in the other places, and with goodreason. I paid $5.99 for each hotcake which is steep. But I couldn't even finish one so it's worth the price. Plus the serverkinda warned me they were pretty filling and she was right. I took my leftover one and a half hotcake plus a sausage patty andate off it the rest of the day. It was literally the only meal I had the whole day until I got to the Pro Football Hall of FameEnshrinement later that night and spent $8 on a small personal size pizza from a food warmer... The Amish are so friendly andinviting, and their courteous-ness is truly other worldly, stands out to the outsider real quick. They are unafraid ofdisplaying their culture even in literature choices at the check out counter. I only hated not having enough time to settle inand explore this quaint peaceful community. Read more
