IL Capriccio has been a well recognized name for high quality Northern Italian cuisine for many decades. After it closed its... doors (due to covid and the retirement of the owners) it reopened under a new mangment less than 1 mile away from its originallocation. Fun night, good was great, drinks were great. Only problem we really had was with the waitress. She didn't seem to have the... patience to explain what was in a dish we had a question about. We came here for our anniversary. It was an unplanned venue but they had availability at the last minute. We used to come to... this restaurant at the previous location on Main and Prospect St. My memories of this restaurant was quite fond. Unfortunately,I cannot say my experience at the new location was good. The atmosphere and decor are great. The parking is fairly convenient;just wished that you can enter from the parking lot instead going to the front. The least impressive part of this restaurant isthe food and value. The food portions are pretty small for the price. The food is just “ok”. There are many restaurants in a“lower” tier that are better. I would try other places before considering here, such as Fiorella’s in Newton or any placein North End. The service was a bit slow (they apparently forgot us). Always loved Il Capriccio's food but never liked their ambiance/decor of previous location. Now with the new space down the... street, it's a much better experience, and their food was just delicious and beautifully plated. Sommelier Jan is always soinformative and gracious! Read more
A different twist to Italian cuisine. We never imagined having Bokchoy in an Italian dish :P The drinks are nice. The food... tasted great. Highly recommend booking in advance since the place is on the smaller side and tends to fill up really quickly. Ample parking available on the back side of the restaurant.
