All the food items that we got - burgers, chicken salad, salmon, fries - were very good, margaritas were really good. Will... definitely go back again for the food, however maybe takeout next time. I'm never one to complain, but it would have been niceto have the staff more interested in refilling / selling drinks (we had to ask for this) than in taking our plates before wewere finished eating, pretty put off by it, I expected better manners than this, even in New York. We had a delicious dinner at Snaps with some friends last weekend. Most of our table ordered specialty burgers while I decided... to have soup and 2 appetizers for my dinner. The short ribs were amazing and the tortilla soup was really flavorful yet veryspicy so be aware. Waitstaff was attentive and drinks were great as well. Our desserts were super gourmet and out of thisworld delicious. I had the banana bread pudding, someone else had the banana flambae and my husband had the soda float. Onebeget than the next! Used to love this place. However, our latest visit was extremely disappointing. Started off with a dead bug in one of our... waters, a bad omen. Chicken was rubbery, and the highly recommended steak frites was a tough, stringy piece of meat that Icouldn't even cut through with a steak knife. It was so unappetizing that we had to say something. Waiter apologized and tookthe plate away, but then no replacement was offered. Also said a manager would come to talk to us, and that didn't happeneither. I thought maybe they'll at least comp us the dish or a dessert or something like most restaurants would? Nope. Fullprice for everything! And with their prices, and how poorly they handled the situation, we will not be returning here. Read more

This is a local hot spot and always packed. It is best to make a reservation because it is hard to get a table, especially on... the weekends. The menu is always interesting and flavorful. The pricing is competitive considering the quality of the food. Theservice has always been excellent. Parking can be tricky but you should be able to find something in the back of the restaurant. They do a really nice brunch on Sundays so reserve early! Read more

For more see liwinedad.blogspot.com A good three stars with interesting entrees but still needs a bit of refinement to move... into the 5-star range. Snaps American Bistro has expanded but remains located on Wantagh Avenue just south of Sunrise Highwayin a small group of stores on the west side. Parking spots are limited and small, both in the front and back. The greeting wasprompt, and we were quickly seated at a small table for two. The room was packed, vivacious with several large tables and a bitnoisy. Our cocktails arrived quickly, with the Cosmopolitan being fine and the Woodford reserve a bit over iced. As this wasthe beginning of restaurant week, we ordered from the restaurant week menu, and to my disappointment, they did not have theLobster bisque. I ordered the soup of the day Chicken tortilla, which arrived table-side beautifully plated, full of flavor, and just enough spice to remind me of the soup's traditional heritage. Jo's Caesar salad promptly and was a generous portion butwas lacking overall. The croutons were small non-descript commercial toasted bread cubes, the romaine crisp, the dressing a bitbland, and the shaved cheese mild and undistinguished. After clearing the starter plates, sometime later were asked if wewanted anything else before closing out the check, and we asked for our entrées. Our water glasses ran dry, nor were we ask ifwe wanted additional drinks. The mains took an exceedingly long time to arrive but well worth the wait. Jo had the Skirt Steak, which was grilled just to the right temperature, and plated with BBQ dusted Fingerling Potatoes, Corn Salsa, and GrilledAsparagus. The sides, as well as the steak, were outstanding. I had the Salmon, lightly dusted with seasoning and grilled toperfection. The Salmon sat atop a bed of Arugula, Quinoa, Feta, Tomato, Chickpeas, Olives, and just the right amount of GreenGoddess Dressing. In short, a delicious and well-balanced entree. We took home the included deserts Read more
