Our family loved our dinner at Waterwheel! All three courses were incredible, and it was absolutely fabulous to try the local... Troddenvale cider. Highlights included the trout cristinis and duck confit. We all ordered different appetizers and entrees, though, and no one was disappointed. This place is a MUST EAT in Bath County. John, the innkeeper, was gracious and welcoming. We learned all about the area from him, because in addition to being a skilled restaurateur, he is also an engaged member of thecommunity. We will certainly be returning for more cherished family dinners! A place to make memories. Read more

My family and I had dinner at this exceptional restaurant. It was a great find. The restaurant is in the old mill and it keeps... some of its features. The space is cozy and nicely decorated. The general ambience is inviting and private. The servers are verykind and professional. They explained some of the dishes and made suggestions. All the dishes were delicious. They don’t havea kids menu but accommodate to kids portions and my children really liked their food. My salmon was cooked perfectly and verynicely presented. The beef stroganoff was also delicious. And the desserts are also very good- we had the maple cake (I thinkthat was how it was called) and the flourless chocolate cake. I would recommend walking around the patio if it is not too late. All in all I would highly recommend it. Read more

We were staying at the Omni Homestead and I wish we had ventured off property sooner! The food here is head and shoulders above... the tired, oversalted fare that is the rule there. The dishes here were creative, beautiful, and impeccably prepared. We hadthe Chicken Crepinette, the Coraline salad, the fish special, the Pasta Capellacci. They have a few off-menu options for kids. The flourless chocolate cake was the best I've had anywhere. The only misfire for us was the peach cobbler which was probablyon point as a classic cobbler but was too doughy for our tastes. There's a nice selection of beers in addition to wine andcocktails. Small bar area and outdoor lounge area. Kids can enjoy walking around outside and seeing the water wheel and thegrindstones from its days as a mill. Read more
