Any indication of authenticity or flavor is a misrepresentation. The plantains were undercooked and hard. The chicken was... steamed and completely dried, yet soggy to the bone. The rice was hard in the middle and gritty on the outside. There was asincere lack of seasoning and spice. The saving grace was the cabbage, though it was sitting in a pool of oil. I had some midcarry out over the pandemic, but this is honestly on of the worst meals I've ever had. I'm honestly flabbergasted this businessstill exists. Read more
WOW. 10/10. I?ve been watching too many food reviews/travel documentaries in Jamaica and other parts of different countries.... This food definitely is the closest to authentic Jamaican food that you?ll get. Very friendly atmosphere. You can tell the owneris doing what he loves. The food is never prepared carelessly. Expand your palate! The oxtail dinner is TOO good. And they evenscoop a bit of the oxtail gravy on the beans and rice. Will be coming back to try the other dinners! Bad Caribbean restaurant, the waitstaff was rude. They treated me like a thug when I was pleasant to them. The oxtail was blunt... and very small. They don?t accept any coupons which is why the food is overpriced. The rice is dry. The curry chicken came insmall portions. I had better Caribbean food from great Jamaican places and this so-called restaurant is not one of them. Don?tbelieve the hype it?s terrible! Read more
Omg this was delicious! Just moved to Warren and this was my first time here and it didn't disappoint. As a chef whether I'm... moving or just visiting a new city I love checking out all of the restaurants and seeing what the city has to offer whether it'sfine dining, casual or just a hole in the wall that happens to be a hidden gem. I ordered the jerk chicken wings and a meatpatty. My only regret was not getting more of the beef meat patties. The food was fresh and hot, nice portion size, flavorfuland the meat patty was fresh, flaky crust, lots of flavor. I definitely will be back. Read more
Wow, wow, wow! I cannot believe how good this is. Red beans and rice, jerk chicken and plantains. The husband loves his curry... goat dinner. I can't get myself to try that but maybe after a few cocktails or something. ???? The price is very good for theall the food. You also can control the heat (spice). Oxtails had big ol bones in them. Good meat on the bones but not much meat. Curry goat was pretty good. Good taste and... flavors. The beans and rice was pretty normal. Not much flavor but still good. The cabbage from here was pretty damn good.Seems like it had more spice than the rice and beans. The star from this place is the jerk shrimp. The flavors in the juice onthe shrimp was SO GOOD! Sweet and savory kind of but more on the sweet side. It paired up perfectly with the shrimp. Woulddefinitely have to revisit the jerk shrimp again very soon. Please don't get the roti from here because it's not real roti.It's basically just burned pita bread as you can see in the picture. The lady working here was very stingy with the gravy. Shedidn't charge me for the extra gravy but she also gave me only a palm full of it. An infant palm at that. I looked at the littlecontainer that she gave me and it was gone. The main reason why I'm giving this place only 3 stars is because........as you cansee from the pictures.......our food was all jumbled up in the container. That came from the ride home. The food got like thatin the containers because the portion sizes from here is rather SMALL..........even though their prices has risen. It's almostlike they raised the prices but lowered the amount of food they give out. I had to go to Taco Bell real quick to get full. Thenthey dedicated a whole quarter portion of the container to 3 fried plantains which were dried out and pretty gross. Tasted likepacking peanuts with oil on them.
