Wow! You have to come back here! We hadn't been in since the ownership changed. The way they reworked the space is amazing. You... still have all the lovely elements of the 18th century building - wide board floors, fireplace with Bake oven, crane and widemantel beam, beautiful Bannister in the entrance hall, large multi-paned windows, but a fresh whimsy has been added. As youenter from the street through a classic colonial facade, the heavy door opens to a burst of swirling flashing colors on thewalls of the stair hall. It is as a swirling sea or a great tempest filling the room. An excellent example of handiwork ofHopefully one of our states many artists. When we came, we had walked around the right side of the building through the largeoutdoor seating area (which was full of revelers through the summer) and could hear and see through the open windows sounds ofmusic and happy guests. In the back is a little garden with parking behind. We stepped up to a small brick entry and then intoa Tavern. Rectangular room, windows all around, bar on the right with people on stools, a hostess. The end of the room steppedup and you could see a room to the left with diners and a room to the right. There was music playing, people were chatting ,high ceilings. There is a feeling that it was well thought out, like when you go to Clarke Cooke House - classic New Englandspace with modern service but still Yankee charm. We were taken up and to the right around the corner to the end of the roomand sat at a table next to the massive fireplace that was mounted with a wild boar! Next us was an Interior 12 over 12 windowwith bubbly glass panes. It looked down into the bar. Glass shelves with whiskey were on the outside of it in the bar. 10 for ambiance and service. But they have so few vegetarian or vegan options and even if you order something with no meat they... charge you full price. We had a vegan in our group and the kitchen did make her a salad off menu. It was pretty basic though(greens, carrots, some olives i think from the bar ha) and they charged her $18 for it. So we appreciated the effort but it wasa lot of money for what she got. Our server was amazing though and went above and beyond to make sure the vegetarians/vegan inour party did have something to eat. I just think in 2022 it's really old fashioned to not be able to accommodate dietary habitson menu. The rest of our drinks and food was amazing though so I fully believe the chefs could come up with an incrediblevegetarian or vegan option. Read more

Written on July 16th. It was a nice place to have a family dinner with a young kid outside. My 5 years old son enjoyed his meal... and playing at the patio. After third visit, I can tell you what's the best on the menu. Shrimp Mozambique Rangoons and SpicyChicken French Toast! Try them together! You will know what I meant! Previous review: Employees were mice and friendly. Foodswere good. But only one thing I wanted was having more options for side dishes. We older waterdog(hotdog), hamburger and fishand chips and all came with french fries... This place is quirky in all the best ways. The building is a converted historic house with the entrance through the back, ample... outdoor seating and first step inside brings you right to the bar. The vibe inside is very cool and pop it’s you instantly atease - gives you a familiar feeling. It’s a little dark and moody, relaxed and unassuming. The food was excellent and theservice was fast, we had the hummus plate and chicken sandwich, our kiddo had the hotdog from their kids menu. Portions werehuge and each dish was balanced and hearty. We had an amazing birthday lunch at Waterdog this weekend. We sat at a picnic table outside and it was perfect. Adorable decor... both inside and out. Definitely coming back with some friends to sit at the cute bar next time. We had an assortment of apps andmeals - street corn crab dip, honey sriracha wings, piri piri wings, pesto fries, dirty fish n chips, Mozambique Mac n cheese,scallop blt salad, and chowder. Horrible experience encountered here on Mother’s Day. My family and I made reservations weeks prior to this place excited to... give it a try. We arrived and was not greeted/welcomed the host was nowhere to be found. We approached one of the employeesrequesting for some assistance to be seated and finally the hostess came “how many”? Nice. Not to mention a family after usarrived 5 minutes and looks like they were welcomed with smiles and seated immediately. We had told her that we madereservations and received a call to come a little earlier and she look confused and said she would be right back. So 10 minuteshas passed by without her coming back to say what she was doing her coworker actually approached us and stated the table wasbeing set up. We sat down and now no one has came for a good 15 minutes to ask for drinks. My father approached a manager torequest for a waitress to provide us adequate service I guess that was too much to ask for. The workers were in a cornergiggling and talking away. We received our drinks and appetizers now forgetting utensils and plates. I approached the manageronce again to complain as I never experienced this before having to get up and ask for what should already be given. I am veryunderstanding and know that it was probably going to be busy on a day like Mothers Day but it surprisingly was not here. Thefood was ok just wished my family and I enjoyed the service. Came here for brunch with a couple of friends. It was a new place for all 3 of us and we loved it. The space is really cool and... a great atmosphere. The bellini was unique and really yummy. The food is delicious and the portions are super generous. We willdefinitely be back again! Read more
