Recommended by the HIE staff and definitely an upgrade from chains/fast food. Family run, typical midwest food choices. The... night we were there ther special was all-you-can-eat fried chicken - which was delicious - and bourbon glazed pork chops, whichmy husband loved. This restaurant was once a gem. We would frequent it because the fried chicken was incredible. However? things have changed, and... not for the better. We ordered the salad bar with our dinners. Some items on the salad bar were frozen. I ordered chili. Thechili was room temperature. I ordered cheese on my chili ( which I didn?t get & had to get myself off the salad bar) whichwould not melt. I sent it back to be microwaved. They returned it a second time and it still wasn?t hot. When I ordered a secondbowl of chili they served that one at room temperature also. I sent that one back and pleaded with the waitress to pleasemicrowave it for at least two minutes so I had a hot bowl that I can melt the cheese in. I couldn?t believe they did it twicebut they did. Normally the fried chicken was served hot and crispy. This chicken was served cold and soggy. I ordered two breastand wings. I flipped the first breast over and the whole top of the breast was gone. The skin was completely peeled off and thechicken was cold. What gets me is the owner just sat at the bar the entire evening Instead of making sure quality food wasleaving the kitchen. We were told by the waitress a new cook was in the kitchen. You would think that the owner would be backthere helping to ensure that things were going smoothly and that the food was served properly. I don't remember the name of my burger, but it had 4 slices of cheese, 4 pieces of bacon, and 2 fried eggs on top of my burger,... and it was every bit as delicious as it sounds! Then it was topped of with a delicious piece of carrot cake. We will definitelybe back to try other burger options, or even just repeat this order. Read more

My wife and I were excited to try this place for a date night. We heard nothing but how good the food is. Problem is, I still... don't know how the food is. We walked in and got a table pretty much right away. Then they sat two more tables after us. Thosetables got their drinks, apps, and food orders taken. We hadn't even gotten water, silver ware, or even a "Hi". So we left. Read more
Food is delicious and service is even better! Chris is attentive, funny, and provide fantastic service. The steaks are delicious... and Mac n cheese is delicious. Save room for dessert because the pineapple upside down cake is delicious! Read more
This was our first visit to Oliver's and we were greeted by the staff as If we were regulars. My wife and I decided to eat... something we were very familiar with as a comparison and were blown over by how good and fresh their fried chicken was. Excitedover the chicken we decided to see how well the restaurant did with their onion rings and fried potatoes and again they exceededour expectations. My wife opted for the salad bar foregoing her two sides and everything she had was fresh from the largeassortment offered. Amazingly, one hour short of closing they were still adding things to the salad bar. Absolutely full wecouldn't resist sharing the carrot cake and like everything we ate it did not dissapoint. We recently came in to get dinner only to find the menus prices were incorrect and nobody in the place appears to understand how... to charge people for things. There was no way to substitute the salad bar for a side. I prefer to get a burger and a singlesalad bar. Read more
