Staff was friendly, food was alright, speed of service was ok. I would eat here again I guess. It give off major “Bar a... rescue” tv show vibes lmfao but for the most part the food was good and experience was positive. I have always loved going to Double S Stakehouse in Warwick. It was a go to for us. I gave them a 5 star rating before, but had... to remove it. But this last visit was unbelievable! It took almost an hour and a half, in total for seating & then being servedthe food. When we got the steak half of it was like a hockey puck the other half was completely raw. We ordered a medium. Thewaitress was sweet & kind - she should be commended for her efforts. Hopefully this was a one time occurrence. At first they said only 10% off, the waitress was able to remove the steak from the bill completely after she brought it back to them. This isthe only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1. I work two jobs and in an effort to spend some time with my 12 yr old son, I decided that we would eat lunch with the time I had... between jobs, just so I could spend some time with him. He looked up a restaurant and chose the Double S Smokehouse. We gotthere at 1:00pm, ordered and got our appetizer by 1:15pm or so. (Not bad) We could notice they were short staffed but at thattime I did not notice the extent of it. We had a Bavarian Pretzel. It tasted great. The problem was that 1:30pm, 2:00pm, 2:15 pmwent by and our entrees were not ready. Realize this is a BBQ place. Not something that gets cooked when ordered. The Waitress/ Bartender kept telling me 5 more min, 10 more min, it's coming out soon. At 2:30pm, she brings out two pieces of cornbread andsays it's coming. By that time I had to let her know that we could not wait any longer. I needed to get to my other job and nowwe did not have enough time to eat. Needless to say my son was very disappointed. The Waitress did not charge us for the sodasand appetizer and apologized. I don't blame her. Obviously there is a major issue in the kitchen. We were so looking forward toour meal but instead I had to get him home so I could drive to my other job. Other customers in the restaurant were experiencingthe same issues. Hopefully they fix their issues soon but we will not be returning or recommending this establishment to others. Read more
A bit disappointed to be honest. The service was good. The brisket was very dry, the pulled chicken had a weird flavor, the... sauces were just vinegar variations, and the corn bread had the consistency of pound cake. Not sure if I'll try again. Read more
We googled this place and it had solid reviews. However the food did not match the reviews. So place is nice and big and has an... outside section with some beautiful views. We ordered a sampler platter with smoked ribs and pulled pork. Kids ordered theburgers. So first of all I'm an excellent bbq grill person and take great pride in my ribs. I was expecting a vert solid bbqexperience... The food arrives and at first glance the ribs looked Dry and the pulled pork looked tender and juicy. So wetasted the ribs and they were dry and very smoky, but not a good smoky. It was a cold smoke with a bitter after taste. We couldnot get past 2 ribs. The pulled pork was better but not worth a mention. The kids only ate half of their burgers. We left hungryand annoyed. The place has great potential and with some guidance could be an outstanding spot. I don't usually miss on myselection of places to take my family (of 5) out for food. I would definitely go back and give this place another chance after the pandemic is truly over and they get more help/staff. The... food took a very long time to come out - it's a holiday weekend but the place had like 3 other tables so it wasn't thatbusy. Regarding the food, it's a smokehouse so the food had this smoky flavor which was pretty cool. Although my steak wassmoked very much because it was pretty dry. The steak sauce was so good it almost made up for the texture of the meat. My kidsloved their food, french fries and chicken fingers. The mac and cheese was good too. The atmosphere was pretty awesome with acountry feel that makes you want to do a 2-step. The bathroom was clean. At one point one of the staff randomly approached myson and asked if he needed anyyhing...I didn't see anything that would've prompted the young man to do that so it was alittle...weird. Otherwise a nice place in a good location, I'd like to try eating outside if there's a next time as I'm notusually out that way. Read more
I'm not sure what happened with the other reviews, the staff were very friendly and attentive, there was only 1 waitress and 1... bartender you could tell there is a staff shortage but that did not change the service we got!! We appreciate you guys stayingopen and working hard, the food was amazing, we got the garbage can the creamed corn and cornbread were my favorite all the meatwas fresh and tasted great!!
