What a great place to dine on a perfect summer afternoon! The location is perfect. Every table has a beautiful view of the... ocean! We had Calamari Balsamico and Boom-Boom Shrimp. Both were delicious. Highly recommend Lemon Shrimp Risotto;fantastic!! While you wait for your table, recommend sitting at the bar and meet the best bartender, Rita. She is amazing andwill take the time to make your experience top notch!!! Also if you can ask for server, Joe. He made our dinner a trulyenjoyable experience. Can't wait to go back!!! Read more
Over all great choice. 4.2 out of 5. The fish and chips were good but the fish broke apart too easily. Calamari was amazing top... notch. Oysters might have not been cleaned properly a little to much ocean and fish taste. Will be going back! Read more
Very nice lunch. Attentive service and great food! We had the baked scrod with mashed potatoes, fried clams with the bellies,... and fish and chips. Each meal came with a cup of clam chowder (red or white). We sat in the dining room with the large windows,which today were open. It was a lovely day out and reasonably priced. Read more
Our visit was pleasant, and the staff was attentive and helpful. I tried the fish and chips, but was surprised at the wetness or... oil filled fish. The taste was ok, but I did not like the lack of flavor. The others in our party enjoyed their foodselections. My choice should not be taken as a negative against the restaurant or the staff. Now this is definitely a place to go.... it was a cozy inside and a big PLUS for the good staff! I really enjoyed this place for... a many reasons. One it was cozy for a cold winter day with the fireplace. The windows all around in the dining area, you can seethe ocean as you are. ( I can only imagine in the summer time when all those windows and doors are open to feel that oceanbreeze. ) I will be back to find out! So, I scanned the little card at the table and wow.... you can actually order and pay asyou sit . You use your camera and a website pops up, I took a screen shot in the pics below, but I really liked this ... younever know if you don’t want lesser contact this is good was a good way to do that. Or if it ever gets too busy you still havethat option. ( I didn’t use it but I like the idea of it) . I have to say, it was really good food and the prices. We orderthe steak tip with the rice pilaf. This lunch special came with the steak tips, rice pilaf, clam chowder with two clam cakes and PLUS a dessert at the end. ALL for $12.95 wow they had drinks specials too !! I did post the menus. We were full with thisand happy! After your lunch or dinner.. you can actually walk over to the ocean to catch that sun rising, sunset or thesunshine on you. The hours are different in the summer time they are opened 7 days a week and this place is NOT a only to eat,during the summer they have live music in their dining top part of the building. All the windows open up and the summer funcomes out! When I return during the summer I will be reviewing and taking pics ... Remember DIFFERENT hours this place is openedin different seasons! They do have a number to call ahead to check out their hours or their website. I also wanted to add...great job cleaning and distancing during the Covid 19 restrictions! 5 stars for me! First time in a long time since I was at Top of the Bay. I was there for lunch and what a great deal they have going on. 2 clam... cakes cup of chowder a meal and little dessert. 12 bucks you can't beat it. The food was terrific, we started with calamari itwas light not dry, excellent. Fish and chips also nice and light no grease, excellent. Chowder was very good. I'll say theservice was top notch, the guy was on it. So lunch was a easy 10. The view of the bay is a 10+. Read more
Very disappointed… First off hostess wasn’t very hospitable, saw me standing there and didn’t even acknowledge me. That... should have been my cue to turn around and leave. Clam cakes were ok, dipping sauces are meh, could do without. Steak tacos aremeh also, sauce should be on side… Lobster was a little tough and scallops were super tiny and over cooked, the stuffing onthe stuffed lobster was pretty bad, couldn’t eat it. The side dishes looked pretty sad too ???? My lobster cracking tool wasdirty, had to ask for a new one. Read more
