Full disclosure - The owner and operator is my cousin. I must say having had my first meal there - their award-winning fish and... chips - I was absolutely blown away by how good it was. The fries were the way fries were always meant to be - perfectlysalted, crisp, with a light and fluffy inside. The fish was perfection - tasty, very lightly battered with a crispy finish, andmoist tasty fish on the inside. Portions were quite generous. The restaurant itself was very well presented, and never havingbeen there before the location and ambiance was great. The best part - the staff! Nicole, Jessica and Dominique were flat outthe quintessential operators - prompt service with a smile, all the while exuding passion for their work. Love the place. Willbe back again! Read more

My family and I came up to the restaurant for dinner. Got to say what a excellent little spot nestled off the hwy close to the... lock. We ate inside and were greeted in a timely fashion by our server and were showing to a clean table. Food was super tastyand priced fairly with competitive business. Service was fast, restaurant is clean, well kept and very pleasant. Will definitelybe back. Update: been back a few more time still have not had any issues with no menu items being short. Though like everywhereelse around the area and business having staffing issues. The lock 42 staff are rocking it and doing awesome. Keep up theamazing work! Read more

Gill and I went for supper, first time today. The food was great. I had a burger and fries which is unusual as I always get... salad but it looked so good I had to try one. Gill had fish and chips and he said they are the best he's had. He's a fish andchip lover and its hard to top Wata Station. He said the batter on this was way better and he loved the fries. Our server wasawesome. It got really busy at 530pm and every table was filled. Great location with a view of the locks and boats and a quickdrive from highway 11. Read more

First time visiting yesterday after discovering it a few weeks ago. We ordered takeout, and sat down at a picnic table... overlooking the locks. Lock 42 classic burger and fish and chips. Everything was perfectly scrumptious, not a single crumb wasleft. Photos are of some awesome painted rocks I found on the grounds, our food, and some drinks that they served (that I havebeen searching everywhere for).?????? We will definitely return, hopefully sooner than later. Read more

This is a GREAT little restaurant, not far from Hwy 11 in Simcoe County just North of Washago. Stopped in last week for an... early birthday dinner with my better half. She ordered a burger and fries, and I had their highly-recommended fish andchips. The burger was cooked beautifully, the bun toasted perfectly, and the toppings were fresh. My fish and chips (Haddock)was 2 large pieces fried in their house made seasoned batter, also served with fresh-cut French fries, slaw, and lemon wedge. Their spin on ?tarter? sauce is VERY creative?the only way I can describe it is a creamy dill sauce that was out of this world. I would bathe in it, if I could be sure the cops wouldn?t show and ruin the party. The front of house staff are terrific, andvery friendly. The cook has a talent that I?ve rarely appreciated outside of Toronto or Chicago. I whole heartedly recommendthis place and anticipate many returns. Read more
