I?ve lived in DC for three years now and feel confident in saying Trattoria Alberto has the best Italian food in DC. It has... great service and great drinks as well. I recommend the cucumber martini and the fiocchi for an entree, but every pasta dishI?ve had has been exceptional. The fish specials are also always cooked perfectly. Honestly, I?d eat here every day if I couldafford it. I?ve had dinner here maybe ten times and each time our experience has been stellar. The one time our food wasslightly delayed the owner gave us all a complementary glass of wine? appreciated but unnecessary! Read more

The outside looks rundown but inside is a gem. The veal parmigiana is my absolute favorite thing to order. The service is great.... The tiramisu and beef tortolini were not good. Read more

I went to this trattoria because it was in the neighborhood where I grew up. I had a very enjoyable conversation with Ernie... Buruca, the bartender. Ernie is a very good Barcologist. For those that are not aware of what a Barcologist is, it's abartender/psychologist. I had a very pleasant conversation that went from drinks, children, adult children, politics andgovernment. Ernie was on point the whole time. Great job Ernie. Now the food ????. The seafood linguine was outstanding. It hadmore than enough seafood to compliment the linguine. It was well prepared well seasoned. It's rare that you get the good seafood- spice blend ????. It could be considered pricey by some, but remember you get what you pay for. It is well worth it. Iordered both white wine sauce and marinara. Both were great. I also ordered two additional entrees. All was to go. If you getyour food and drive 20 miles and your food hasn't dried out or gotten soggy, and is still wonderful, the you have found a gem. Iwill rate the other entrees later. I need a nap. UPDATE: Okay I had my nap from eating all that wonderful seafood. Now the vealand chicken parmigan (two separate orders), were wonderful. I have had them with the veal or chicken patty was over cooked anddry. This was not the case. The veal and chicken were moist and didn't need to be drowned in sauce as is the case when it isover cooked. There was enough sauce and cheese to accentuate the flavor of the meat. Lastly, the presentation was outstanding.Look at the photo of seafood linguine. Great Job!! Read more

The only restaurant that had last minute reservations for dinner for a large group (6) on a Friday during parade season!... Unassuming and kind of a hole in the wall type place. We loved it. For my niece, they were able to bring out bread with ?lotsand lots? of butter, and plain noodles. Their watermelon salad was worth it! My husband and I had the dishes in the photo. Myhusband was left a little wanting, so I shared some of my chicken with him. The food is amazing, staff is so pleasant andwonderful, and I will definitely come back to try another dish! Read more

The food here is divine. I had the beef, spinach, and cheese ravioli that they only serve twice a month. If you happen to be... there when they offer it - ORDER IT! My friend?s swordfish was cooked to perfection, and I LOVE their spaghetti carbonara; thebacon is always cooked perfectly. Very friendly staff as well. Will recommend to anyone. Read more

Great dinner and drinks. Didn?t capture all the dishes but EVERYTHING was delicious. Had the opportunity to meet the owner... Ernie, a true delight. We talked for hours at the bar about his history at the restaurant and here in the DMV area?he showed mepicture of him and several DC dignitaries, politicians and neighborhood folk, he?s truly a great guy. I look forward to dininghere again soon. Read more
