I am a stickler for finding small businesses to patron and The Chicken Place fits the bill. The dining area was tidy but in... need of a really deep cleaning. The staff randomly wore gloves when handling food. Like the 3 people serving food, 1 person hadon gloves. She was cleaning, then handling customers' orders... I asked the worker that handled my order to put on gloves beforehandling my food and he acted befuddled as to why I would ask him to. He reluctantly found some in the back, then used the samenasty scoops to get the sides... The sides look like they had been in the warmer and undisturbed for hours and hours. Dried-outmac and cheese, dull vegetables, and corn-on-the-cob appeared to have sat in its juices covering only half while the exposedhalf was dried out. Disgusting!! I had already paid for it. I don't recommend this restaurant for takeout until they changetheir sanitation routine. Not going back. Read more

Went there for lunch as a first timer. I ordered the chicken fried steak with Mac n cheese and a corn as sides. Food was ok but... not impressed. I love a good chicken fried steak and this was just ok. Mac n cheese was good and cheesy but not warm enough.Corn was buttery and hot. The thing that turned me away from visiting a next time are the following, 1. Cook in kitchen wasswatting flies with a fly scattered behind the cooked chicken (don't know if raw food is behind where the chicken is underwarming lamps) 2. Several flies were hanging out on the window. One seemed dead. 3. Cob webs in corners of windows and booths.Cleanliness is vital in any food establishment. Read more

When you gotta have some good chicken and don't have several hours to wait for Babes this is a very worthy second. Good flavor,... crispy on the outside juicy on the inside. Fried okra and red potatoes are my favorite sides. Will be back when my fried chickencraving hits. Read more

You have wonderful chicken and to die for fried okra, 5 stars, but your service? 3 or maybe even less. My son and I drove up... there to order him a tenders meal. We were the only ones there, there were 5 workers that I could see and it took FOREVER forthe meal to be made. I felt that maybe it's because they were cooking chicken fresh, but I don't know for sure. We got homeand the dinner had the incorrect sides and the gravy lid had not been put on and spilled out everywhere, everything was coatedwith gravy and no we didn't tip the bag over in transit. Now, I understand mistakes happen, I do, but this is quality controlissue. Pay attention to what is going out to the customer and you will win in the end, when I have to turn around and driveback to rectify, it sours me from shopping there for a very, VERY long time, I'm sure I'm not the only one. We normally really like this restaurant... unfortunately last evening it was not great. Our rolls were ROCK HARD (some were... burnt/very dark brown)... The fried chicken was ok, no seasoning other than salt ??????? the corn nuggets and gravy had so muchsalt it was inedible. We spent over $60 on dinner for our family of 9 and half of it got thrown away. Read more

One of my top restaurants in the area. I go here almost once a week. I?ve only ever gotten it to go, and never eaten inside. The... food is cooked very fresh which means that the to go box gets pretty steamy inside. I usually avoid getting the food soggy bycracking the lid of the box a bit, or by punching a few holes in the top of the box. The fries are larger crinkle cut, and areso crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. Plus they have their own dry seasoning that?s pretty tasty. The chickenis very tender with a crunchy breading that?s seasoned fairly. If you?re ordering from the drive through it usually takes a fewminutes, but again, that?s because they cook the food fresh. The staff is generally pretty friendly and accommodating. If youhaven?t been, you should absolutely hit the chicken place up! Read more

Ordered 2 / 6 piece tender meals with fries ( 6 fries in one and 8 in the other) and ordered a 4 piece with mashed potatoes. Got... home and my sweet tea was unsweet. Rolls burnt for $40 I really expected better then this. We eat at least once a week there (well we uses to but after today never again) called up to talk to management and after my complaint she asked for me to bring itback to replace. After I asked how to make a review she hung up on me. Gave one star because no star wasn't a option Read more

I had seen this place before when driving by and I remember telling my wife..."we should try it some day". Well, we finally got... around to it... WOW!!! I was pleasantly surprised!! I thought it was going to be just another "chicken place". Not the case! Thebreading used is very different. It has very good flavor and texture (we got the chicken tenders). The sides definitely have a"made from scratch" flavor! We have gone twice now! The first time we tried the coleslaw (very colorful, great flavor, NOTswimming in sauce like other places). Tasted homemade! On our second stop, we tried the fried okra (very healthy serving) andbroccoli and rice (excellent flavor, not swimming in cheese). Both excellent choices!! And last but not least....the gravy fordipping the chicken. OMG! Fantastic!! Again, tastes like homemade! We'll be back! Read more
