Made reservation it was my anniversary and wanted to go some place nice they are open on Wednesday so it was perfect and the... gentleman on the phone said he would place me in quiet booth and wished me a happy anniversary. When the wife and I got thereseemed like they did not save us a place so we had to sit in the bar booth. We started with calamari w/ peppers and gorgonzola.Came with marinara and a delicious creamy sauce and had a little kick to it . Next was a kale salad we split it absolutelyperfect. For meals the wife had scallops and rossoto . The dish had a fall theme butternut squash and a cheese infuseddelicious. I had the 16oz ribeye here is why no 5 star . Would of expected better too fatty and had to many veins in a steak for40$. I enjoyed it anyways . I let the waitress know about it . The desert was vanilla creme brulee. Fresh fruit on top serverwith a biscotti. One other critique was when asked if I wanted Bailey's I said yes easy on it heavy on vodka . It did nothappen . This is not our first visit here . My wife used to be regular with her great aunt when she was living. Here are photosof our meals Read more

Pricey place, but very tasty food depending on what you order. My friends had the large lasagana slice and spaghetti carbonara.... Those were decent but not my favorite. The carbonara was the better of the two. However, my Rigatoni Scarpiello was da bomb! The red sauce in that dish was so tasty. I'm glad I went with this dish. The meatballs were very good and tender. And thegarlic breadsticks - well, I could have eaten a whole pan of those ;-) Really good meal. Read more

So started going here the first time for my anniversary with my girlfriend and the dinner was nothing to rave about it was good... but not overly amazing. Then we decided to order from them for take out dinner and was completely surprised by the total amountcoming to 14 dollars more then the menu was advertising online seeing how it says it was updated a few weeks prior to my orderand when I called to ask why my total was so much they reduced my total by 3 dollars. 22+26 is 48... not 61 basic math. Makingme still over pay for my meal even after telling them the website has a certain price I was still over charged. So if I were torecommend this place I would say if you want mediocre food that is way over priced then go here. Read more

Any reason to go to La Tavola is a good one, whether it's planned ahead or last minute. Attending an opening a block away on a... Monday in early June, we were glad to see La Tavola was open as many restaurants are closed on Mondays. We chose a table outsideon the front patio. Late Spring weather gave us a balmy breeze throughout our extended time here. Our party of three ordereddrinks and two appetizers since we'd all just had a sandwich wrap at the event. I wanted to try their gnocchi starter but it wassold out. The eggplant torta was exceptional, and I'm not an eggplant person. Definitely something to order again. Meatballs area big deal in Waterbury, and the competition is serious. For this reason, I had to try theirs. Not my meatball. Too soft. Theybroke apart easily. Nice sauce and flavor, however; these things are personal. Drinks had a good pour and were well made. Theciabatta was light and airy served with a garlic puree. Our waitress really knew the menu and food as veteran staff, which isalways appreciated. The friend who joined us never saw the glass floor in their bar before and had to marvel at it, runningdownstairs to take photos from below looking up, as well. Everyone loves it. We could not leave without ordering an entrée togo to have the next day. The Paccherri with roasted chicken, pancetta, sundried tomatoes, leeks, spinach and garlic in a shallotbroth is a fine medley. # Another popular caterer for outdoor parties in the warm weather is La Tavola's Pizza Truck. They bringtheir mobile wood-fired oven right to your home or event and hand make dozens of pizza with a variety of toppings. There is alist to choose from if there are some things you don't like or some you just love. Attending a party that had the La Tavolamobile unit on hand was a real pleasure. Fresh hot pizzas kept coming from the truck to the oven to the table and every one ofthem was a sensation to your palate, but there is always an individual favorite. From ricotta Read more

Please read it before visiting this place. On June 20, 2022, I was traveling with my family (5 people). We decided to have... lunch when we were close to Waterbury (Connecticut). So we stopped, and I Googled some spots in the area. That's how I found theLa Tavola restaurant. Since we prefer Italian cuisine and the restaurant had good reviews, we were happy to go there (previouslycalled and booked a table). As for the cuisine, the food was average (for our taste). But my review is about somethingcompletely different. One of the dishes in my order was Eggplant Torta. When this dish was brought to me, and I cut off a pieceof it, I saw something inside it that looked like a tiny living tadpole (I am attaching a photo). It floated in the sauce for awhile, and after I caught it and put it on the edge of the plate, it stopped moving. Frankly speaking, I was utterly shocked andconfused. After that, I turned to the restaurant workers, who expressed their surprise and took my plate with the dish.Further, I asked for the bill. This dish has been excluded from the bill. BUT! I did not hear any apologies, attempts to explainthis incident or something the restaurant simply obliged to do in this case! I'm not talking about any loyalty in the form ofadditional discounts or some kind of compliments. But that's, unfortunately, not the end of the story. When I asked thewaitress (dark hair, short haircut) if the restaurant would like to somehow comment on the incident and show customer service, Ireceived the answer: "what should I do?". So I said, "ok, I'll leave Google review and contact the relevant regulators torequest a health check of your establishment." In response to this, the restaurant representative took my card AND LITERALLYTHREW IT TO ME, just right in my face. I was forced to go inside the restaurant, call this employee again, and once again askher to accept my payment. The payment was taken, but I heard several emotional, impartial comments addressed to Read more

I visited La Tavola for a family dinner right before Valentine?s Day (a little delayed on this review, oops) and was able to... take part in some of their amazing Valentine?s specials, like the lamb chops and fun desserts that were offered. We were seateddownstairs, and I really liked the vibe of the restaurant. Two of my family members ordered the lasagna bolognese, and we werecompletely shocked at the massive block that came out! Every meal we had was fantastic, and I?ll be keeping them in mind forValentine?s or other holiday meals in addition to hopefully visiting more often! Read more

Good food and good service. Had the penne peppered vodka with shrimp. Tastes different than regular vodka sauce but good. The... lighting was a little dimmer than I like. The area where we sat had a draft from the door, I suggest when you call to makereservations, ask for a table away from door/bar area. Read more
