I ordered the Tutto Mare tonight, to go. My order was ready at exactly the time they said it would be, even though the... restaurant was extremely busy. Staff was very courteous, the price was extremely reasonable, and the meal was OUTSTANDING! Itis a meal for two, there was enough to feed four people. The squid and all of the seafood was cooked perfectly. This is onlymy second time at this restaurant and I will certainly be returning! Read more

I lived in Waterbury for 8 years and had never been to San Marino. The house sauce is wonderful. So good I came back two days in... a row. My family had a LARGE gathering here and the staff handled it remarkably. They were organized, expeditious, and friendly.I normally have tiramisu at Italian restaurants but I opted for the amaretto toasted almond cake. It has the consistency oftiramisu but instead of espresso it's soaked in amaretto and it's amazing. The eggplant lasagna is awesome as well, so good Iboxed it up and took it with me on my flight home. Read more

San Marino is one of those places where You can always get a delicious meal. They are a staple in the City of Waterbury. I've... been coming here for years and never gotten a bad meal or drink for that matter. They have Banquet rooms for larger gettogethers or celebrations and a full size bar. Read more

I went to San Marino with a group of parishioners from St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck. We were attending a luncheon... for our former pastor, who was visiting from India on the occasion of his 50th anniversary of being in the priesthood. I had thePenne Alla Vodka, which was very tasty, fresh and flavorful. Our waitress, Destinee, was personable and professional, providingtop-notch service, while taking the time to converse with our party, as the restaurant was not very busy. The 5th star wasearned by a complimentary dessert given to Father Mathai to celebrate his anniversary. I?ve heard around Waterbury that SamMarino has gone downhill recently, but my experience during this visit showed me that this is not true. Based on the quality ofthe food and service, I?d come back in a heartbeat. Read more

San Marino's is a place to dine in more often. It's always good. Love they are selling house made pasta in coolers in the... reception area now. We had to reorder their calamari with gorgonzola as well as the rabbit main with sweet peppers my partneralways craves. I tried their braised shredded short rib with spinach, mushrooms and gorgonzola over risotto. It was okay - adish not really in their wheelhouse. Drinks, service, seating, all good. Bread took awhile to come to the table but they werevery busy. Cappuccino always makes a fine finish. # Another pleasant lunch here last week dining in the sun room. My partnerordered the Mozzarella en Carozza once again for a starter. Fried on the outside with melted cheese on the inside and served onwarm tomato sauce. Each bite is worth savoring. His main was a Parmesan grinder with eggplant. The sandwich had multiple layersof thinly sliced fried eggplant, mozzarella and house sauce. Very good. I had the Stuffed Filet of Sole with a crabmeat spinachstuffing and vegetables on the side. It's served with a garden salad (or a choice of soup). The fish was mild in flavor and anice healthy choice. We ordered off the regular lunch menu but there are lunch specials each day, as well. # Excellent meal atthis established Waterbury restaurant this weekend. Our party of four ordered the following lunch menu items which were alldelectable or delizioso in Italian: Fried calamari with gorgonzola and mozzarella en carozza. Both were above par and fineexamples of how good these appetizers can be, though calamari continues to be an ongoing experiment for me in terms of subtleinterpretations on the high side. The house bread came with bowls of olive oil and shredded parmesan. Two house salads camewith the recommended house creamy pepper dressing, which was the right choice for us, another with blue cheese and a fourth withthe caesar option our dining companion thought was worth two more dollars. Main dishes: Rigatoni alla vodka Read more

Another delicious meal at this Waterbury institution. Our server today, Jamie, was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The... Fried Calamari with aioli was tender but I should have requested the marinara on the side. The Broccoli Rabe with Sausage wasagain perfectly cooked, Mussels Fra Diavlo were tasty with the garlic and oil sauce, and the salmon salad satisfied my friend.Extra star for the Peppercorn Ranch Dressing on their House Salad. We'll be back! Read more

I usually get the Chicken Marsala and it?s amazing. The pasta and cavatellis are always cooked perfect as well. The only reason... I?m not giving it 5 stars is sometimes the French fries are very dry and they forgot two times to give me a salad. Read more

Very friendly staff but the food wasn't all that great in my opinion. Bread was nice, calamari was a bit rubbery for my liking... to chewy, I ordered the veal parmesan and it was very dry not happy! My two daughters ordered chicken parmesan and they said itwas fine, and another shrimp dish was ordered and he was happy! Drinks were good as well as coffee and cake. Server was great abit busy due to a large party in the back! Prices are fair... Might go back and give them another try not sure...Just my honestopinion. Read more
