Just got home from an amazing night at Sultan’s. My husband and I had not been back to Sultan’s in over 10yrs. Not because... we did not like it the first time but because we honestly had not had the chance. But tonight we finally made it. It wasamazing! Had the fried liver, hubby had lentil soup; lamb shank for hubby as main dish and I had the chicken and lamb kebabdinner. Everything was excellent. Finished dinner with a rose hip tea for me, Turkish coffee for hubby and a milkpudding/custard cake for us to share (sorry can’t remember the name) that hit the spot. The belly dancer was great to watchand made it a truly unique and fun night. I highly recommend. Read more

Highly recommended for a Turkish dinning experience. We ordered Chicken and Lamb Adana and the sultan kebab, portion is huge. We... could barely finished it (me & my husband and both of us are big eater). The eggplant/zucchini (sultan kebab) is amazing, trulyTurkish. The ambiance is perfect, I love the big turkey port picture on the wall. Please see attached photo. Read more

Great customer service, nice and friendly staff. The food was good, however there is room for improvement for Adana Kebab and... Iskender Kebab. Adana was little bit dry and hard ( even difficult to cut with knife and fork) and the Iskender was a bit rawand the management should pay more attention toward the meat. Delights and deserts were excellent and we got two sets ofTurkish tea complimentary from the owner. Prices were reasonable. Read more

I have never had Turkish food and I regret it. This place is a hidden gem. If you are traveling thru Waterbury this should be a... food stop on your trip. Walking in you will feel like you walked in to the Middle East with the decor and the environment. Theservice is exceptional, they make you feel at home since you walk in. The server was attentive and answered any questions thatwe had about the menu. The Food was excellent we had the small mix cold appetizer, one of the samples was havuc tarator. A dishmade with carrots, WOW this was great creamy and full of flavor you done even know that your eating carrots. We also tried thefalafel, they were crispy on the outside and soft and tasty on the inside. The other appetizer we had was the sigara borek withfeta and parsley, the cheese was melted in every bite. For dinner we ordered the meat sampler, my favorite meat was the lamb. Itwas tender and flavorful. This was my first time at this place but definitely not the last. Read more

My boyfriend and I came here to try Turkish food for the first time- we were amazed! The food was utterly delicious and also... pretty healthy + filling. The restaurant itself is much nicer once you go inside vs how it appears from the parking lot. We willdefinitely be back. Read more

What can I say? This is an excellent restaurant with the best food. I am used to Middle Eastern food that is more Lebanese than... Turkish, with lots of garlic, which then gives me intestinal distress. However, this food had a lot of flavor without theoverwhelming presence of garlic. We chose three main dishes and the combination cold appetizer plate and we had plenty of foodto eat and to take home. The restaurant is along 84 so if we travel to that direction again, we will just have to drop in. Read more

We tried this place for the first time, was really excited to see that they had belly dancing but I guess that’s only on... Saturday evenings. Anyways was also excited to try Turkish food for the first time. Overall a great experience. Loved theTurkish tea. We ordered the vegetarian borek as the appetizer which was great, and mixed grill platter as the entree which hadChicken shish, lamb shish, kofte, adana and doner. We didn’t quite like the doner and found it to be dry but other than this, everything else was really good. We then tried 4 types of desserts (3 were to-go), kunefe which was excellent, baklava which wasexcellent, sutlac which was okay and revani which was excellent. Don’t forget to check out the sweet box by the door which hasa lot more different types of baklavas looked like. These items weren’t there on the menu so I wish it was there too so wecould order it at the table too. Read more
