I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. My only complaint is that it's too far away. My wife and I went for our... anniversary last night. We opted for the tasting menu, and absolutely everything was amazing, and most of the dishes were veryunique. They were different than any way we've had those foods before, yet similar enough that the meal didn't feel like it wastrying to challenge me, or be cute about how different it was. It was just great food, in ways we'd never tried before. Ourfavorite was the calamari salad. We're definitely going to try to replicate that one at home. HIGHLY recommended. Worth everypenny. Quaint interior with beautiful views. Good service. Food was good. Portions were filling. The calamari was cooked perfectly. The... gnocchi and chicken were fantastic. Four stars because I was hoping to be blown away- which didn’t happen- but still verysatisfied. Read more

The two metrics that I believe every restaurant should be gauged on: - How does the value compare to the price? - Price aside,... how good is the food? Michael's on the Hill is underpriced. The quality speaks to the level of Michelin 2 star, but the pricingis well below typical Michelin fare. The food itself, independent of price was fresh, creative, and delicious. Rarely does ameal correctly set my expectations with the amuse bouche, and yet even something simple like a cheese fritter on a chive aioliset my expecations sky high. The "appetizer" which followed, fried quail over truffle honey, covered in greens, deserved to bean entree. The richness of the fried quail balanced with the acidity and astringency of the greens, unified by the sweet andsavory of the truffle honey, resulting in a dish that had me literally licking my plate clean. By the end of my tasting menu, Iordered another appetizer. This was not because I wasn't full, but rather because it is quite rare one encounters a restaurantthis special. I wanted to push beyond my own limits so that I could taste even just one more bite. If you are at all a fan offine dining, you will not be disappointed here. Read more

This restaurant genuinely deserves at least 1 Michelin star. It significantly exceeded expectations: food was well balanced,... tasted wonderful, contained just the right moisture content, and was the ideal temperature throughout. It's the best chicken Irecall ever having tasted. And it's not just the food that wows: the building, the ambiance, the location -- they're all justso on point. Not to mention the service, which was downright exceptional. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would, andthat's the first time I've said this. Read more

We celebrated my husband's birthday tonight. We have visited Stowe many times but it was our first time dining here...and it... definitely will not be our last. Our server Alex was exceptional, we felt like royalty. Everything we ordered was mouthwatering, the scallops, the crab cake, the shaved vegetables, the steak, not to mention the ice cream dessert. The ambience andthe experience, it was one of our most delicious meals we've ever had. Thank you chef and staff! Cheers and can't wait toreturn! Read more

Drinks were great, the view was better, and the was even better. P.S. order all the appetizers you can, though amazing too the... entrees play second fiddle to the appetizers. Read more

Came here seeking both good food and a stellar dining experience to celebrate my 21st birthday. I found both! The service was... excellent, and the waiter happy to provide us with wine pairings suggestions and explain menu items. The crabcake was butteryand sweet, but the real star was the venison. Borderline fork tender and wonderfully spiced it was a treat! Micheals is a gem,if you want a special night out go here. Read more
