Fast service, quality food, and a peaceful atmosphere. I had to drive to Waterloo for my job and had a class to attend online... after work. I didn't have time to get home for my class so I stopped here anticipating using my Hotspot wifi and having dinner.I was pleasantly surprised that they had me covered with free guest wifi. Staff was friendly and let me get my work done butmade sure I had what I needed including drink refills. If I lived closer, I would go back for sure. Read more
You advertise, send emails and mailings for weeks about the breakfast special to honor Veterans on Veterans Day. As a Veteran,... my wife and I tried to apartake in the Veterans Day meal, but it wasn't meant to be. Staff was totally unprepared for the numberof patrons arriving. Disappointed with the manager on staff as he seemed to figure the best way to deal with the problem was toignore those waiting and even those wanting to pay. I guess he figured if he ignored the problem, the problem would go away. Hewas right. There were about four couples besides us that left the same time as us after waiting over 30 minutes with many tablesbeing open. And he had not communicated with the patrons at all. We're seated quickly. Server had our drinks quickly and had a pleasant additude. Had the chicken fried steak with gravy, eggs... over easy, hash browns, and sour dough toast. It was all very good. Price was a little bit more than was expected. So when I geta hankering for chicken fried steak I'll probably be back. Read more
I'm sorry to say that we walked out after getting our drinks. There were black things floating in one of the drinks. The floors... were very dirty. The woman's bathroom smelled horrible. The poor waitress said the restaurant is highly understaffed. I feltbad for her but I'm not willing to eat in an unclean place. Read more
Went for dinner with my mom around 4 pm. We both got breakfast. Build your own grand slams to be exact. The bacon was hard and... tasted old. My mom ordered over easy eggs but asked the waitress to make sure the cook knows she would like the whites of theeggs done. Which isn't hard to do. Heard the manager with a kid there tell the waitress then she should have ordered over mediumeggs. Sent the eggs back and they came back exactly the same. Mom got the seasonal fruit and most of it was mushy. I got hashbrowns and specifically asked for sliced American cheese and onion on it and it came out with neither. Waitress acted irritatedwith the cook and apologized numerous times. She brings the hash browns back out and this cook seriously put some black onionsand UNMELTED sliced cheese just on top on the hash browns. She offered to put my whole plate in the microwave cuz she said shewould be mad too. I won't even start on my watery scrambled eggs. BUT our pancakes and ice water were really good. And thewaitress was very nice. Payton I think her name was. Oh and the manager with the kid noticed how much we were "complaining" anddidn't once come over to ask questions. Quick and friendly service. Food arrived in in a timely manner and everything was fresh and hot. The only downside to the food... was the over use of salt in both the chicken tenders and French fries. Far too much salt. Read more
