Had a lovely dinner out with a relative we haven't been able to see in a LONG while. We went to the Homestyle Diner in Waterloo.... I haven't beeen there in ages. My relative had the honey garlic ribs with a side of potatoes, coleslaw, and cooked carrots. She said the ribs were perfect. I had turkey dinner, white meat, with mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw and cooked carrots. Theturkey was succulent, not dry at all, even before having gravy on it. My son had a Homestyle burger which he devoured. I feelplaces like this can be overlooked as they have an old-school classic menu, things I remember my mom and grandparents making forus here in Kitchener, but this is exactly why you should go! Their menu has excellent variety to suit everyone. Oh, and dessertwas DIVINE! Relative had coconut cream pie (HUGE piece), and my son and I shared a delicious warm brownie with ice cream andwhipped cream. Definitely still a great! Very friendly service! Read more

Exactly what the name implies. Nothing fancy and hipster, just a good old fashioned well run home-styled diner. Great reliable... basic cooking, served with a friendly attitude and a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Decor is basic but clean. All workers werestrictly following the COVID rules. Food was hearty but a little plain. Not necessarily a bad thing. Good portions and goodprices/value. Trish was a great waitress! Washrooms were clean and nicer than the average family diner. Carole thank you for your awesome service and morning smiles. Service was top notch. I had the 1/2 stack apple cinnamon and... pecan pancakes with bacon. Hubby had an omelette and added onions and cheese. Absolutely delicious! The home fries are anotherlevel...probably one of the best in town, add the onions and pepper and that is a first class act! Coffee was also good! On ourway out checked out the bakery items...a chocolate cheesecake caught my attention, so I am definetely coming back. I've only been living in Waterloo for a few weeks, and I've already come to eat here five times, so if that isn't a kind of... endorsement in and of itself, I don't know what is. The food is quite good, and the servers are quite friendly and attentive. Itcan get quite busy, even on weekdays, but I've never had to wait to be seated.
