We really enjoyed our evening here. The drinks were crafted, not just made, with care. True mixologists. They are very... knowledgeable when it comes to drinks. Dinner was an adventure in fine dining. The food was well prepared, presented andflavored. Each of our meals had something to offer in variety and taste. The service was on point and brisk. We wanted fornothing. It wasn't cheap but I would say we got value for our money. Read more
The place is an experience. The menu was overwhelming but our server was patient and wonderful at describing what was available.... Presentation is definitely important to them and they did not disappoint. Each part of the lamb dish was an experience for mytastebuds. Truly enjoyed the changes in flavour and texture and it came together wonderfully. A great location to celebrate butbe aware that the cost is substantial. Read more
An elegant restaurant offering Southeast Asia inspired (fusion) dishes and cocktails. We ordered the venison and the Javanese... gudeg, both of which had great flavours and presentation. The Javanese gudeg (jackfruit) was especially notable with itsinteresting texture and flavours after being slow cooked in a curry. Went for the second time today and was disappointed. Food: we were recommended the lamb and the venison. Both dishes had good... presentation and the meats were well cooked, but the flavour was good yet nothing special. It felt like the chefs tried too hardto elevate the dishes and did not do a good job. The venison dish came with a piece of peppercorn, 3 small green balls of someunknown spice, and a banana leaf, none of which were edible nor added flavour to the dish. The green garnish pieces on the lambalso had some odd flavours that did it more harm than good. Service: when the server brought out the appetizer, she dropped awhole glob of salad from one of the apps. Half of it landed in my friends plate, and the other half on the table. She simplysaid sorry and didn’t make any attempt to clean it up or top up the dropped salad. After we finished, we were trying to figureout what to do next but given that it’s pretty cold outside we sat chatting for a while at our table. The server kept tryingto kick us out. The ambience is nice and the food is good, but at this price point I expect more. Don’t think we’ll bereturning. Read more
I've been here a couple of times, and the food has always been spectacular. All the dishes are so flavourful and well... thought-out. It's not just "here's some meat and potatoes", each dish has so many components and textures for you to createdifferent combinations for each bite. For fine dining, the portions are also quite generous. Service is also amazing. Forexample, they didn't bring our dessert until we were done our cocktails. Like, as soon as we took our last sips they swooped into take our empty glasses away and then dessert was on the table immediately after. Speaking of cocktails, they're on thestrong side here! Definitely getting your value of alcohol, although this could be seen as a fault for those who prefer sweeterdrinks. A genuine 5/5 restaurant, I'm not even exaggerating. Read more
A true gem in uptown Waterloo. Certainly a must try if you have not been! The design and decor of the entire space is... impeccable. They have a cozy patio in the summer months if you're looking for outdoor seating. We always love sitting at thebar. This restaurant offers nothing but quality, quality, quality- on every level. An absolutely amazing dining experience fullof rich and unique flavours and such beautiful plating presentation. The cocktails are very unique and handcrafted exquisitely.The bartenders have no problem taking as much time as it needs to make your cocktail perfect. The wine list is impressive.
