Beautiful Resturant. We were surprised to find this upscale fine dining in Waterloo, CHEF is really talented, food is so... delicious it puts a lot of Toronto high end restaurants below its level. The attention to detail, presentation and taste reallywowed us. The pasta dish really stood out the most for us and the oysters were just an explosion of flavour in your mouth. My first time (and won't be my last) going to S & V Uptown was for their Mothers Day Brunch they held with a splash of Drag!... OMG, what a blast us ladies had. This place is beautiful, fresh and serves you that elegant vibe the minute your food is placedin front of you! I felt like a queen! Although more on the pricer side, I honestly had no complaints because the food was purequality and fresh. The taste from my meal was just mouth watering. The service was great, I wish I remembered our server?s name for a shout out. We tried the oysters, seared beef, and roasted... garlic potatoes. The beef was pricey for the amount you get but the potatoes were ????????. They didn?t have the fondue, so willcome back later if they bring it back! Read more
Flank steak/complementary sourdough were pretty good. Service was good. Quiet and nice place to catch up. Enjoyed their... cappuccino as well. Nothing really impressed me though + it was kinda expensive. Read more
It was a great evening. Wonderful atmosphere, great food and service. I enjoyed a salmon dish on a bed if veggies. It was done... to perfection, crispy skin and flaky and moist on the inside. My husband had the bison ???? steak ???? with hand cut fries andglaze. I tasted a piece as I'm not a big bison fan and it was delicious. Wow surprised me how good it was. Very tender and greattaste. The drink menu is presented in a gift box with cards inside. Each drink has its own card. We tied a few. Again. Sooogood! Interesting mixes but a drink for every taste. We had the 5 course tasting menu. Four of the courses were very well done and the wine pairings along with the service were... exceptional. However, feeling hungry after paying $330 for two people isn't cutting it for value... I ate 5 tacos next doorafter. At this price point, you shouldn't leave hungry (-1 star). The chocolate ganache which was the least favourite among thegroup. It was the least refined of all the dishes and too heavy to finish on (-1 star). There is a void in the KW market forsome high quality food and service, which S&V clearly has. One or two tweaks and it could easily be a 5 star. Read more
This is probably the best restaurant in Waterloo area. The food is amazing and the service is great. The lamb tong and foie gras... were just perfect! If you don't want to go to Toronto just to visit a fancy restaurant, I highly recommend this one and it willbe better than most places from Toronto. The only thing to improve is the dessert. They have some room for improvements. Wetried multiple ones but they were not that great. Maybe because the appetizers and entrees bar was too high. Read more
