As if I wasn?t already enough of a pie person. The chicken mushroom and leek pie is delicious, the filling isn?t over seasoned.... The crust is flaky and buttery as all pie crusts should be. But the highlight is their butter tarts. I got the pecan and it?samong the best pecan tarts I?ve ever had. The filling caramelizes when baked and becomes chewy like a toffee. I have been here several times, each time has been great. All of the staff I have interacted with have provided great service. I... cannot speak to the quality of the savoury pies, but the sweet pies and butter tarts have been fantastic. The best item I havehad here was their cherry pie and my partner really likes the butter tarts. Best butter tarts around, and they freeze exceptionally well for a surprise treat. Their small pies are a perfect size for... sharing, and if you love crust as much as my partner does, the small pies have a great crust to filling ratio. The only problemis that their crust is so good, I don't give up my "excess" crust like I normally would. The online ordering experience isexceptional and efficient. I contacted them after hours and heard back with a confirmation first thing the next day. It's theonly way to go when you need one or several dozen tarts. :D Read more
Incredible bakery! I initially picked up a quiche here for Easter and have been going back ever since every time I?m in Uptown... Waterloo (mostly for their butter tarts, which are my favourite in the region!). Also tried their peach crumble tart today -SOdelicious! Highly recommend! Read more
At first I was skeptical when my girlfriend walked out of this store with a $22 jerk chicken pie. "that's a bit $$ for a store... bought cold pie, no?" The moment we started to realize this could be an above average cold pie was when she tasted a part of thecrust that broke off during oven to table transfer. Buttery and flakey (and a bit sweet) crust and despite the pie being a bitthinly loaded (around 2" thick total), the filling was a well cooked, well seasoned, and as one employee advised, "kinda spicy"but only just kinda. We ate much more of the pie than we would have predicted This would be a 5 star review instead of 4 if thatpie was a bit more flavorful (more spices, could be more spicy too) and $17 instead of $22 Read more
