Ordered a Sausage gravy skillet from the owner/cook himself. Got my order and it came with raw onion & raw green pepper mixed in... with my hash browns. Decided I would ask the owner/cook if the sausage gravy skillet was supposed to come with onion & pepperand he responded, ?yes, all of our skillets come with onion & pepper.? To that answer I questioned where it said that on themenu and he flat out told me a lie stating it says it on the top. He said he would discount my barely touched breakfast($5). Before leaving I asked to see the menu and at the very top of the skillet option it reads, ? all skillets come withcheese. 2 eggs & toast. Craves cheese extra $2? To be the owner and flat out lie to a customers face (cause you can?t tell me hedoesn?t know that menu like the back of his hand) is atrocious. All to make an extra $5 on a lousy $10 skillet.. even myhusbands skillet came with raw vegetables that were supposed to be cooked. He should be thankful he didn?t serve someone whocould of been allergic. Read more

The food was delicious and made to order. My son got 2 pancakes and was amazed that they were almost bigger than his plate. We... will be sure to come back next time we are in Waterloo! Read more

I work in Waterloo and this is my "go to" for lunch nearly every day. I love Scott's soups made from scratch with fresh local... ingredients. Daily specials are always reasonable and quite a variety. Scott has quite an imagination and is a master of manythings, but cooking is his specialty. He is a one man show most of the time, but still manages to get things out timely. It justfeels like a 2nd home for me. I highly recommend! Read more

Arrived there around noon today after we checked in at the local Municipal Building to find out what they thought was the best... place in Waterloo to have lunch. They recommended here downtown. It was 1/2 filled with customers. First impressions was adated but clean old school diner, complete with stools at a bar and booths, much like stepping back in time 50 plus years. Owner Scott was a one man show this day, cook, waitress, etc. (but you would never know it). He greeted/seated us, took ourorders, cooked our orders, and accepted payment, all while carrying on conversations with all customers. Our orders came out ofthe kitchen quickly. The soups of the day were exceptional, and while we all ordered various burgers, they were all excellent, thick and juicy on ho-made, buttered, toasted buns. The fries were hot and tasty as well. We will definitely be back. Read more
