Jana?s has become a favorite in our family. Dine in or take out always a great experience. My kids LOVE the rice pilaf, lentil... soup and Russian soup (I forgot the name but it has meat dumplings inside). My husband and I really enjoy all the meats andhomemade sauces. My family was visiting a week ago and we had to take them to Jana?s. When my mom tried the grilled chicken sheliterally said: ?wow, this is probably the best grilled chicken I have ever tried? About 2 years ago we discovered this hidden gem of a restaurant during our venture of house hunting in Newton. We immediately... fell in love. The food was fresh and delicious. Everything we tried from chicken to the amazing dumplings dish was so good. Itkept us coming back for more. We were so disappointed when it closed due to a fire. Recently when we returned from a familyvacation. After a 9 hour flight everyone exhausted, hungry, and no food in the fridge. My wife asks has Jana Grill reopened.After almost 1 year it was open. We placed a large order. I'm happy to report it was as delicious as ever and the renovation wasdone well. Since we returned we have ordered several times and even had dinner with a large group at the restaurant. Never adisappointment! Amazing food and service experience. They are all super nice. Lamb kebab and lentil soup(lentil sou was yummy at least) was 50$ and rice was old and it was a man hair in it. People was not... care! They have an old menu in the google map. And they were even not sorry about that??????????? Read more
Jana is back and open and I love it! Went for lunch with my coworker. She got the falafel wrap and fried potatoes, I got the... Lebanese kefta and hummus. So fresh, so good. Inside was nice and cool and the staff was friendly as ever. Missed this spot somuch. So happy they?re open again. Read more
Jana has finally reopened after their fire last year. We went tonight and it was excellent. We got the Armenian beef/pork lash... kebab, the Armenian salad (roasted vegetables) and the rice pilaf. The meat was mixed with perfect spices. The pilaf hascarrots and chick peas. Those three things were the perfect amount of food for two people. Read more
One of my favorite places in town. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is so cozy. They have a great selection of food. You... have a chance to try some Russian dishes as well. My favorite dishes are chicken kebab, eggplant caviar, khinkali, and chickenwrap. Interesting fact, that if you want to try khinkali you need to go there on Wednesday. However, you need to call them onpriority and tell them the quantity you need. They also have a great wine selection. The House wine is good. The customerservice is great, everyone is so nice. They have their own parking, it is convenient because you do not have to drive around andsearch for the parking. Read more
Today was first time here and I enjoyed the food. This is most likely a family run spot so they get an extra ?. They were... extremely nice and concerned that my order was right. Another ?. As for the food, I ordered a simple chicken wrap with tahini,pickles, tomatoes, and lettuce ?. I really enjoyed the way they grilled the pita. Nice and smokey, I can still smell the smokeon my hands. Another ?. I ordered a side falafel. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the insane. Another ?. Overall, a good placeto eat with fresh ingredients. Came into this spot at the end of a long bike ride on the Charles river bike path. The cheesy Flatbread with eggs was... phenomenal, and a large was more than enough for two people. The kebab was also quite hearty and delicious, especially afterbeing smeared with a heaping helping of garlic aioli. This is a great spot for Mediterranean fare and I highly suggest trying itout if you find yourself in the watertown area. Read more
