I had booked a room at the Dragon's Den in Watson Lake, but passed by this place on my way. One look at the room at the DD and I... knew I couldn't stay there. Luckily, the Upper Liard Lodge had a room, so I doubled back. I found myself in a basic, but clean,room, with a number of special touches. Great spot to stop off to camp and rest. Owners were friendly. Camp spot was beautiful. Loved the friendly malamute that made... a few visits. Showers are a bit old, bit clean. Being Americans are currently not allowed in restaurants (COVID restrictions),I was offered a hot and delicious breakfast to go. Read more
Owner lied about restaurant being open until 8pm when we called to confirm rooms/kitchen time. Showed up around 6 and he tried... to tell us he didnt say that and the kitchen hadn't been open for a week. He also lied about the number of beds in our rooms.Dishonest and absolutely would not recommend. Read more
This was one of the worst places we stayed at on our Alaska road trip. Shower was dirty and didn?t work, room was open,... actually the door was left open, room full of bugs! Just glad the breakfast in town was way better than our stay! Read more
The upper Liard Lodge not only had the most delicious lamb I?ve ever eaten (and I order it off ever menu) but the salad was... spectacular, the dressing homemade, and the staff!.....treated us like family. The restaurant was full of locals and there?s areason....some of the best food I?ve had not just in the YT, but in my life. Thank you so much Goldie and Jessica. My family and I are being transferred to Alaska and we are making a trip out of it. We were very excited when we found this... place we wanted to give it a shot. But because it was more than two people we were told we could not stay there. It is me myhusband my three-year-old who weighs all of 30 pounds and our two month old. We really just needed a place to stay but we?regoing to enjoy the awesome atmosphere we?ve heard a lot about. The manager decided that we could not stay there because shedidn?t think we would be comfortable. It was very upsetting because we can make the best out of any situation. Honestly I hatethat we couldn?t even give it a chance. With how do you manager handled it I don?t think I would ever give it a chance. I hadasked her shouldn?t I be able to decide if I?d be comfortable or not I just need a decent place to stay while traveling. I don?tthink people understand traveling with such a small baby we?re stopping every night and stopping every night for over 11 daysit?s pretty expensive . We heard this place was a nice place to stay for your dollar in that they had very good food. We hadevery other place booked other than this one for her whole trip and we waited just to get booked here and we never even got aphone call back. Read more
