A large, rambling Mexican restarant standing alone in the Watsonville Square Shopping Center serves up big food at very... reasonable prices. The ladies enjoyed the fruity margaritas; my Cadillac was reasonably good. Most in our group went for theChimichanga, which turned out to be a massive creation that was tasty. I settled for some Sopas with grilled beef, which arriveddelightfully puffy and delicious. The refried beans are better than average, thanks to a higher fat content and seasoning. Amazing skirt steak! one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area for sure. i always get the tacos w/rice and beans and it... never fails. fajitas and cocktails are always a great way to go. we drive all the way from Central valley just for their skirtsteak though. best we ever had. service is okay. Friendly and attentive staff welcome you. Chips and salsa hello. The chips were good, the salsa is commercial quality not fresh... made. We had tacos and burritos, well presented. Beer? Tequila? I wasnt a big fan of the food. I had the enchiladas casares with shredded beef. There wasnt an ounce of cheese on anything and... the dallop of sour cream isnt enough to do anything with. The chips were nice and fluffy corn tortilla chips. Pretty good. Thesalsa was bland. The Coca-cola was delicious. They had a pretty decent lunch crowd but I think it may just be for the locals.The wait staff were all nice. They kept the restaurant clean which was nice to see. The restrooms were very clean which wasnice. Bland food but they seem to care about facility hygiene. The red enchilada sauce seems like it could be very flavorful butjust wasnt quite there. Not sure what their specialties are so perhaps asking the wait staff may help find their magic dish thatgets all the good reviews. Read more
Had to wait forever for chips and salsa because the employees were too busy socializing. I ordered a shirley temple which I had... to return because there was so much grenadine in it it tasted like cough syrup I ordered huevos rancheros with the salsa on theside. Salsa was not on the side and the eggs were not over easy. They did remove my meal from the ticket therefore the 3 starreview. Read more
Went here for lunch right about the time they opened (11am) on a Friday. Not crowded whatsoever and food was served surprisingly... fast. The food is really good. I had two steak soft tacos w/ rice and beans. Their warm chips and salsa are awesome. Read more
