The food was excellent, even the Friday fish fry. The fish was lightly breaded and lightly fried, but nicely crisp. The fries... were very good, like steak fries but curled and crisp enough. Tartar sauce was so-so. The red pepper soup was very good. Not avery big menu but adequate. Like everyone, they were short on wait staff and our server was trying to keep up. We just have tohave patience with them! They have a tough job right now. Read more

We enjoyed some nice starters and drinks here. Nice new facility with a real industrial look. Table outside and they have a... private room for parties etc... We had a garlic-asparagus dip with a great little bread and the ????Shrimp over Brussel Spoutswith two kinds of dip. A Sriracha and Remoulade. Delicious!!! Read more

The atmosphere is wonderfully cozy. The wait staff was amazing, friendly and attentive. I ordered the glazed salmon with... gnocchi. The salmon was cooked perfectly, not overdone. The glaze had very good flavor and wasn't too sweet - again, perfect.Being in Central Wisconsin and having salmon this good, I am very impressed. My Bourbon Manhattan was delightful and pairednicely with the salmon. We will definitely return and highly recommend. Read more

We went together for a work trip. Atmosphere was great, food was fantastic. I'm not a huge beer fan but they had a big variety... and my group all enjoyed there choices. The cheese curds were very good. I had the shrimp creole and the portion was verygenerous and it was excellent. Definitely would go often if I lived in the area. Read more

Wow! What happened to this place? Thrive used to be one of our favorite restaurants in Wausau. Our experience yesterday was... disappointing at best. The large maple pork chop is now 2 thin, dry, flavorless, and burnt pork chops. The potato mash thatcomes with it tasted like wall paper paste. My fish consisted of several thin pieces which were also flavorless. And then therewere the drinks. The Brandy Old Fashion was smaller in size and larger in price at $7.50. We used to like the atmosphere andfood at Thrive, but we will not be returning! For a decent quality meal and good service, go to Great Dane instead. Read more

Unique table seating at the bar. Cushions on the window ledge for people to wait for seating. Very interesting decor throughout... the whole building. The food was great and came in a timely fashion. My only complaint is the freezing cold bathroom!? Read more
