The "Lazy" Carrot would be a better name. If you're a local you will be waited on and get your food in a timely fashion, but if... not, you're going to be here for literally an HOUR before you could get a fried egg. I'm not exaggerating. We arrived at 10:15and we were still on the breakfast menu. By the time we were served at a little after 11:15 we could have been eligible forlunch. All the obviously familiar people got much better service, they obviously don't care for out of towners. This is a tinylittle restaurant that seats maybe 30 people. We sat staring at a pile of dirty dishes the entire time until the slower of thetwo waitresses finally toddled over and began to slowly stack dishes and carry them away. I never did see anyone wipe down thetable. The food was tasty enough but my over medium eggs looked like they were trying to be scrambled. I would give it a C- or aD for presentation. I had to get up and help myself to carryout boxes because we ran out of time and I couldn't wait anymore.That's when I was shocked to see about 4 women standing in the kitchen!? Perhaps they should kick two of them out onto the floorto bus tables, because the cooking obviously wasn't hastened by their presence! Read more
The food was good and the atmosphere was unique.
My wife had breakfast a few days ago and it was amazing she said. I had lunch today and the shrimp corn chowder was very tasty.... I didn't realize they have a full kitchen as well as their own coffee and other items in the front to purchase. Only downfall Ican see is it is a little tight in areas. Read more

This Is our first time trying the Wild Carrot LLC in Waverly Iowa. We went with the ham cheese and broccoli quiche and the... lasagna soup of the day! I also got a side of potato salad and coleslaw. The coleslaw is delicious! I loved the craisins. I wasreally regretting not getting a piece of their pie of the day or cake! When we went in they were packaging up pieces to go andthey looked absolutely delicious! So much more than a little restaurant it's a beautiful gift store. Read more
I thought the breakfast sandwich I had was horrible. Most breakfast sandwiches are made with poached eggs. This one was over... easy and the yolk squirted all over my top. I had to go home and change before my next activity. The sausage tasted old or likethe griddle was not clean. I have usually enjoyed lunch there, but will not recommend or ever have breakfast there.
