Nice pizza place that is newly built or remodeled. Their pizza was good with a nice amount of topping and cheese..it had a tasty... medium thick crust. Awesome servers and our wait time was minimal. The two of us could only eat half of a large and werefull. The rest went home in a to go box. ( and reheated great the next day on the stove top in a large skillet ) I'd like to tryanother with different toppings next time Waverly is on my agenda. Sorry no pic I was so hungry I dove right in and forgot. Read more

First experience eating here was was not the greatest.. left pretty disappointed and unsatisfied. My daughter ordered a cheese... pizza boat, which has always to me and everyone I know us pizza on a French bread/ garlic bread.. so to our surprise it showedup as sauce and cheese in a dish. So i asked for a cheese pizza instead cuz we didn?t know that pizza boat ment dish? waitressapologized and said she should have told us?. My pizza was a little over cooked and I tasted burnt crust with every bite. Wouldhave been okay if not burnt bottom.. . and to top it off I was still charged for the small amount of cheese and sauce in thedish that we didn?t eat. So needless to say I took it home for the animals since I had to pay for it.. ????. Definitely need tochange their wording in the Menu to pizza in a dish and pizza boat. Waste of $7.00. Might try the place again someday but notanytime soon? photos is pictures of what I paid $7 for! Which to me is crazy! Read more

Great atmosphere. Nice and crispy thin crust pizza which tastes amazing. Kids loved the chicken strips for dinner and the... cheese balls for an appetizer. You check in at the bar to get a table which is in the middle of the dining area. This is kindof awkward and a little tight since there is a bit of traffic moving through for pickup orders. That's the only gripe I haveand to be honest this is probably why it feels more like a hometown place. Good food, kids friendly, and great prices and Ilove this hometown pizza place. Read more

Actually wanted to just message owners, not publicly post, but couldn't find where to do so. So about the Reuben - not good.... Corn beef way too dry and hard, no flavor, and not near enough sour kraut and dressing. Just overall a very bland taste. Frieswere good!! Waitress excellent! Can't remember name, but we arrived at 4:00 on July 20. Only three stars until we try pizza andother items!! Read more

Today I went to Z's and was served one of the most disrespectful meals of my life. I ordered a Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap because... I was tired of pizza since it seems to be the only edible food item in the entire state of Iowa. I get served what appears to bea gas station chicken wrap constructed of Cold inedible canned chicken. I take one bite, Confused by what I was chewing I takeanother......Wow. This is what you serve your customers? To make things worse I return it to the server and explain to her howit taste so cold I thought it was frozen. She takes it back without issue. Here comes the bill for the rest of the table thathad some pizza, Lackluster but they seemed alright with it. The wrap was still there, all $8.99 of it. After asking whatappeared to be a manager about it she continues to dispute the fact that it was frozen while stating it was made fresh. Fresh? What, did you just open the Hormel chicken can? Do better Waverly. Stop supporting these subpar establishments who continue toserve the entire area trash food Read more

Today was our first time to Z's Pizza and diner in Waverly, Iowa. It was okay, the menu was kind of small if you're looking for... something besides pizza. They did have a decent list of sandwiches as well as sides. Our waitress was very nice and did a goodjob. Read more

We have recently relocated to IA, via SC. Any new area that I am in, I need to find best pizza, wings and Phillies. To say I was... excited for the opening of Zs, would be a great understatement. I had read all the reviews of the waterloo location. I evenwaited 2 weeks before going; hoping they would be able to work through, all of the roadbumps that come along with opening a newrestaurant. Upon entry, there were 5 girls standing at the end of the bar, none were particularly friendly or offered thebare-mininium smile. Once we were greeted by the bartender(?) She was very engaging; and wearing an amazing sweatshirt. The mealitself consisted of two items: 1 large pep and sausage pie. And, a Reuben sandwich with fries. The reuben was good, but for theprice, no where near enough meat. Now the pizza... the flavors were amazing. However, the execution was lacking. It had wayyyytoo much cheese, to cook properly. Causing crust to begin burning, and the middle of pizza, to be severely undercooked. Willgive another shot later. Read more
