We called and spoke to a woman before we started which we were in the area and advised where we were and approximately how long... it would to get there because I admit it was close maybe an 1hr but asked even if we make it 30 minutes before because I knowsome places close their kitchen at a certain time...she advised, "yes". When we walked through the door the man, the older dudeflat out in our the customer's face told the other dude that he thought he was about to go home. We sat down because I reallywanted to try the place out but after I let that comment marinate and the atmosphere and the dude rudeness and attitude wedecided to leave. To be honest didn't trust the man with my food after the comment and semi attitude. So not sure if I would bereturning and would advise anyone else of my experience. Read more
Baked chicken and meatloaf were both quite good. Yams, green beans, and black eyed peas were exceptional. Hot water cornbread... (my favorite) wasn't very hot but it was still yummy. Our server was very, very good and friendly. Read more
This is the best soul food restaurant in Waxahachie! I tried this place for the first time. We got the chicken and smothered... pork chops plate. We could not finish our plates. The cabbage is the best cabbage I?ve ever had. I do think it?s worth theprice. The sides are pretty hefty. Customer service is great. They were very nice and welcoming. Not a fan of the hot watercornbread. But everything else was over the top delicious!! Will definitely be back and highly recommend! Read more

Ida Mae?s has delicious soul food! I got the baked chicken, which fell off the bone and was soooo tender. Seasoning was perfect.... My fiancé got the fried chicken and he said it was some of the best he?s ever had. The sides were really good as well, werecommend the collard greens and mashed potatoes. The cornbread muffin that comes with it was crunchy on the outside soft on theinside. Staff was friendly. Go support your local businesses! Read more
I want the owners to succeed they are very nice people. There food was different than any Mexican food I've ever had. If you... look at the pic the hot sauce is the bowl at the top. I have no idea what's in it,maybe habenero and?? Cheese enchiladas camewith Texas or Mexican style.
