We went to the Dove's Nest for lunch with our family on a Saturday afternoon. We had to wait for a little bit to get a table,... but the wait wasn't too long. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food isn't incredibly original, but it was good. The salad Ihad was good, and the ham and jam sandwich seems to be a hit. The wait staff did a fine job. The building is very cool, theexperience and the atmosphere are what it's all about! Give it a try if you're in the area. Read more

The burgers are fine- the menu says they are cooked medium, but they are well done. They haven't got a ton of flavor, and... they're very basic. Everything on the menu is very basic. You don't get types or styles of burgers, you just get theburger. The one thing on the burger that was a bit different was the pickles. They are sweet- I liked them. But the flavordidn't match the rest of the burger. It would have made more sense if it was on a burger with goat cheese and jam orsomething We got the deviled eggs as well (not pictured)- they only come with three half eggs and we're not very flavorfuleither, I wouldn't recommend them. The bread pudding was described as having berries in it- it doesn't, it's just a basic breadpudding with berry sauce on top. It's extremely sugary. It was pretty tasty, but not what I expected. All in all, the food isfine, but everything here is overpriced, and none of it was particularly great Read more

The Doves Nest is tucked inside the shop/boutique of the same name. Plenty of seating but a nice cozy bistro/cafe vibe mixed... with rustic charm. All the staff were very nice and helpful. Food was made to order and came out pretty quickly. Prices weredecent for the quality of the food. I had the Ham and Jam which was VERY Delicious. All the elements worked well together.Highly recommend. The other photo show is the club panini and it was Stacked with the sliced turkey. I subbed the chips for thesoup of the day which was White Chili Chicken. It was good but the sandwiches were 10x better. The only iced tea they had was aspiced orange tea. It wasn't bad but I personally think it would work better as a warm tea. Still a decent drink and worth atry, just wish I had another option. All in all it is a lovely place with great people and even better food. Read more

We were here for a rehearsal dinner. From what I understand this isn?t something they normally do, but we enjoyed our time here... very much! And we think they should consider becoming the venue for more dinners/evening events. There was a charcuterie board, cocktail shrimp, and pimento cheese balls for an appetizer. Or favorite was the charcuterie board! For dinner, we had steak, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Then for dessert we had the butter pie and the molten chocolate cake. All were amazing! Read more

Really nice little restaurant just off of the Town square in downtown Waxahachie. The restaurant is inside a antiques and craft... store which is a little confusing at first but it is a huge background that has big windows with natural light and really warmdecor. Staff was super friendly and took us right to a table to be seated at our drinks on the table before we had even openedour menus. Fantastic service! My son and I both had the burger with kettle chips and a corn relish and my wife had the heirloomtomato salad with fresh mozzarella. The burgers were kind of ordinary but still good and the fresh mustard on them was reallygood. The kettle chips and cornrows were excellent. The relish was sweet with just a little kick from the peppers. The heirloomtomato salad was one of the best salads she had ever eaten according to my wife. Everything was very fresh and the balsamicvinaigrette dressing had a very pleasant little Tang that she really enjoyed. Highly recommend this place for a light lunchespecially if you're planning to explore downtown waxahachie. Read more
