My good friend Linda and I are on a quest to visit all of the tearooms in our local area - within a two hour drive. We call it... our "Tearoom Tour". Today we visited the third one on our list - A Taste of Britain. I don't know how any of the others on ourlist can ever be as good as this one. It was fabulous. We first walked into the beautiful store that is attached to therestaurant. In and of itself, the store was worth the drive as it was charming. We were greeted by the General Manager, Pat,who was kind enough to take a picture of us before we sat down. The ambiance of the dining room is terrific with tables spacednicely apart. It is not a stuffy tearoom. It is light and airy and feels oh so clean. Sarah was our server and she couldn'thave been nicer....so pleasant, so knowledgeable and a great asset to any restaurant. On the way out, another server Ina wasnice enough to offer us a bag for our leftovers. Everyone there is just so very pleasant. I've written so much already and Ihaven't even mentioned the food. It was EXCEPTIONAL. We loved everything and thought the price for eight mini sandwiches, ascone with all of the toppings, three different desserts and tea was very reasonable. And might I mention that all of this wasfor one person!!! We have eight others to visit but already we can't wait to go back to A Taste of Britain. Read more

Amazing selection of various teas, scones, traditional English fare… so much to choose from (meaning many more visits to... come)! Enjoyed delicious scones in a cozy and comfortable dining room that was recently gorgeously renovated with beautifulnatural lighting throughout the morning and early evening. Very helpful and courteous service. Plus, there’s an impressiveshop full of genuine English imported groceries, candies and chocolates, tea sets, housewares, prepared foods and in-house madeloose leaf teas. Definitely a must to experience and enjoy a local portal to an English tearoom and shop. Read more

Found this tea room on the way to the Chanticleer garden. A cozy brunch place with great tea selections! We got Ceylon and Assam... tea. Both teas paired well with a splash of milk. The lemon scone, sausage roll, chicken pot pie, and corn bisque weredelicious!!! The servers were friendly and attentive. There’s a small corner where they sell British candies, tea, and snacks. I took my daughter there for her birthday. You have to make reservations and enter a credit card to reserve. It was a fun... experience. I loved that almost everyone dressed up for a tea party, I even saw a lady wearing a tiara! The teas were excellent.Food was ok. Nobody at my table liked the chocolate truffle ball. I appreciated the server for adding a candle on one of thedessert for her to blow out. $50/person, not including tips. Read more

The server was extremely friendly. That's the positive. I travel to many Tearooms. This was a major disappointment. It had good... ratings so I looked forward to trying it. The ambiance was missing. It was more like a British fish and chip restaurant. Thevariety of scones were great but they were extremely dense. The tea sandwiches were prepared a head of time and it was obviousbecause the bread was on the hard side. They were also somewhat dry and the filling was sparse. The desserts were excellent.Next door is their gift shop and it was very British and classy. I enjoyed that part very much. Unfortunately, I won't bereturning. It just didn't feel like a Tearoom.
