Really good food. That?s what it is all about. I just wish that they were open year round but then they would have to get a... proper building instead of the setup that they have now. Read more

I've been enjoying barbecue at different barbecue restaurants for years. I even smoke my own meats from time to time smoking... pork shoulder for pulled pork for no less than thirteen hours. I know what barbecue should taste like. The "pulled pork" that Isampled at this place is hands down the WORST I've ever had. Zero smoke flavor, and way too expensive. I ordered the greenbeans, they tasted terrible as well. Do yourself a favor. Go to City Barbecue, Dickie's Barbecue, or even Beaugard's inWilmington Ohio. Whatever you do, stay away from 1572. Always love the food here. Really good BBQ. I always recommend the Tri Tip and Ribs but the Half Chicken and Chicken Wings are... also very good. Just a word to the wise they sometimes run out of certain things so don't wait too long to get yours. ???? Read more

To me and my buddy's surprise, 1572 is a Renaissance Festival restaurant that is both accessible from inside the fairgrounds and... from the "outside" via gravel road off of Route 73. It appears as just another "shop" within the fairgrounds, but you grab yourgrub and then go sit in a communal eating area that is close to a bar and small performing stage. The focus here though is themeats. All about the meats. I had the tri-tip and 4x rib combo with mac-and-cheese and sweet corn bread. All of it was reallygood, though the ribs could be a little more moist. Read more

The best hidden gem in BBQ. Had the pleasure of meeting the owners, chef, and rest of the team while competing in a competition... they were hosting. You need to take a trip here for the BBQ. Their house sauces are delicious, seasonings are grade A, andeverything is cooked to perfection. They do smoked pigs and gators too. And yes, it?s in the Ren Fest Fair Grounds. Read more
