Great location, good food, extremely expensive. I enjoyed my time here. Went with a total of four people and we all ordered a... steak. Three of us had drinks. There are about a dozen great/top notch steakhouses across MN. Gianni's is one if them, across the street from Lake Minntonka.
We had gift card from kids. We made reservation for 4pm(still avoiding crowds) and inside seating. We were greeted and sat. Rose... K was our server and very attentive. We ordered old fashion and beach side mule. Rose explained in detail the fish specials. Shealso explained each of the sides saying for 2 or more. We ordered oyster on half shell & crostini/baguette basket. I had lookedat menu ahead. I chose the pappardelle(stroganoff) I saw filet mignon, home made noodles and was looking forward to exquisitesauce. . Well it was so plain, I make a better one????. That is why 4 stars. My husband had 8 oz fillet which he enjoyed. Weordered the papallete to share. It was quite rich and would not order again. That is just us. I wish I would have had sea bassspecial. My fiance and I celebrated a new business venture together at Gianni's. As fans of lamb chops, we weren't disappointed by their... delicious, tender lamb chops. I like how simple they were and cooked perfectly. They served them with a roast bulb of garlic. Itmade the lamb taste even better. The steak burger and escargots were wonderful too. The staff was great. Our server was a joy totalk with and very attentive. Overall, a fine meal. It's been awhile since we had such a pleasant and satisfactory dinner. Read more
If you find yourself downtown Wayzata and steak comes to to mind for dinner, you’re in luck because Gianni’s has you... covered. Put it up against any of the steakhouses downtown. Classic but not stuffy, this spot checks all the boxes for me. The bar is legit with great selections and bartenders that are master at their libation creations. Great wine list.
